Move #1 Oden over Durant = fail, Move #2 trading Andre Miller for Raymond Felton = fail, and finally who's stats would you rather have Nolan Smith: 20 games-1.0 assists per game, 1.9 points per game or Kenneth Faried 6.1 rebounds per game, 7.2 points per game.

Just imagine a blazer team with Kevin Durant,Andre Miller and Kenneth faried. hmmm would have been interesting. I will admit that my third example is unfinished business yet and Nolan actually has a chance to do something in the League but with Portland playing against Denver and seeing Faried actually get playing time I decided to look up their stats.

On a positive note we did get Canby two years ago at the trade deadline and last year we picked up Wallace at the trade deadline. We shall see if something good can come out of this years trade deadline.

It's easy to put stats on paper after the fact, but if you could look down the bench, and be able to say who is going to impact the second half of the season, this post might have merit. Teams don't win on stats alone, but how much they can contribute to the team is the true stat. Lebron is a good example of peppering the stat board and nothing to show for it.

so your picking one line out of my post and saying that it does not have merit. Ok, I hear what you are saying, did you just ignore the fact that I admitted that Nolan still has a chance to put up some numbers this year. I just love it when people take something out of context and comment on it as if that was all that was said. Why don't you address every point I made instead of just banging on one of them. Nicely done.

here are the answers to your so called "fail" moves:
#1- yes we picked oden over durant. why? because we have aldridge. we didnt need another forward. also, if you were to ask ANY GM in the league, they would have picked oden over durant. I know it, everyone else knows it, you should know it too. nobody expected durant to do what he is doing.
#2- it didnt look bad when we traded. he averaged the same stats as andre and is 10 years younger. he just got out of shape during the lockout.
#3- if we would have drafted faried over nolan, he would see the same amount of playing time as nolan and not near the stats that he is putting up. mind you there are 3 dudes that are injured on the nuggets right now, hence the increased minutes. if you look at his stats before gallinari got injured, he played only 5 games and 40 min. but if he were a blazer, he would be behind batum, wallace and even craig smith. no playing time.

i dont think the choices the blazers have made are fails, and i dont think im the only one.

You've put up some stats on paper that makes these moves look bad.  All I can say is that every one of these moves except perhaps drafting Nolan looked just as good on paper then as they look bad today.  The entire story of the Blazers right now can be summed up as Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda.  IF Oden wasn't hurt, IF Roy wasn't hurt, IF Batum hadn't taken 3 years and a starting position to learn 2 play, IF Felton's game hadn't fallen of so sharply etc. etc. etc.  Things would look very different today.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
