    Say It Ain't So: Brandon Roy Reportedly Considers Comeback via Pro Basketball Talk-
    According to sources close to the player, regardless of his knee problems, Roy’s decision to retire wasn’t all health related. “There’s something to it, but it’s not the right time for me to get into it right now,” Roy said. “I’ve been doing some treatment and I’m trying to leave the window open to returning to basketball.”
    When met with skepticism regarding his comeback, Roy explained, “It’s the truth. It’s really hard being so far away from the game. I spend time watching Jamal (Crawford) and following all of his games; Will (Conroy) and Tre (Simmons) are both doing their thing, so it’s driving me to wanna come back out there. If the treatment I’ve been looking into can work, I believe there’s a good chance you will see Brandon Roy back hoopin’.”

    I would take this with a grain of salt, honestly. Of course there's the itch to play again. Not to mention, he's only 27 so he feels like he has some good tread left on his tires. But his knees are shot. Completely. Does he have the capacity to pull off the occasional miracle just as we saw him do against the Mavericks? Yes. But for every one of those, there will be dozens more painful performances to endure, both on Brandon's body physically and for the fans who were used to seeing such greatness.

    Anyway, this doesn't really even apply to the Blazers since we used the Amnesty Clause on him, meaning he can't return to Portland until the duration of his contract expires. This is also another reason why I was pro-Amnesty, because it means his salary is off of our cap, forever. If he had just medically retired, then there was always the chance of him coming back and putting all of that salary back on our cap, which is what we saw with Darius Miles.

    It would be gut-wrenching if he came back and was able to be effective on the court again...to be honest.  I won't be able to help feeling jipped.  I'm sure Paul Allen's blood pressure will go up a point or two as well.  There ought to be a clause in the clause for situations like this.

    i didnt realize they had to use the amnesty since he retired.

    I could have sworn I read that if a player is amnestied he can resign with the player after 1 year of the date of the amnesty

    I know he is only 27, however he has the knees of a 50 year old.  Unless they can come up with a way to give him new cartlidge in both knees I am not for it.  Blazers should, sign him as a Assistant Coach or something like that.  Rehab the remainder of this year an next and if knees are good come back a blazer as a player coach in 2014-2015.



    Brandon you are to valuable to your family.  The game is not worth it.

    My feelings since before the Dallas series.  Neither the jersey I proudly wear on my back at games or my avatar, will change irregardless.
