Should LaMarcus have played more than 10 minutes?
    Yes - 10 minutes? That's nothing! (12)
     80%
No - He could use the rest (3)
     20%

LaMarcus is excited about the All-Star game! Are you?

While its only a glorified exhibition contest, I'm stoked to watch this year's All-Star game because LA is representing Rip City. I still remember watching the game back in 2008 when Brandon Roy became the first Blazer in seven years to play on the grand stage. It was the perfect storm that night. Kobe Bryant had an injury and it forced Byron Scott to play Roy a West-High 28 minutes and boy, Brandon didn't disappoint. He shot 8-10 from the field for 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, handed out 5 assists, and even added a steal and a block to his resume. I just remember watching that game and feeling like I did as a little kid when Clyde put on a spectacular show in Orlando back in 1992 where he should have won the MVP, scoring 22 points, on 10-15 shooting, puling down 8 boards, dishing out 6 helpers, and denying 2 shots.

But for every memorable Trail Blazer All-Star performance, there are ones you just want to forget. Take 1993 for instance. Just one year removed from the greatest All-Star performance ever, Clyde Drexler was once again voted into the game by the fans, which as we all should know by now is an accomplishment by itself, but then Paul Westphal happened. The Glide got just 11 minutes of run, the second-lowest of any All-Star. I still to this day hold a slight grudge towards Westphal for doing that.

And then there was Rasheed Wallace. In the same situation as Aldridge: a reserve power forward. In his back-to-back All-Star berths, Sheed got 21 minutes each time in 2000 and 2001, scoring 9 points the first time but just 2 in 01, shooting a combined 13 shots in both games. Aldridge doesn't seem as passive as Sheed when it comes to the mid-season classic, even saying he's looking forward to throwing down some great dunks and catching every alley-oop in sight. I wouldn't expect a memorable night from LA, just because big men usually suffer from not having the ball in their hands during these type of exhibitions but guards like CP3 should definitely be looking for him on the break. So, we could still be in for some excitement.

What are you guys expecting out of Aldridge come Sunday?  I just hope he has just one play, at least one, that can crack this Top 10 list!

The West beats the East, 152-149. Aldridge scores 4 points on 2-5 shooting, hands out 1 assist and grabbed 1 rebound, but only saw the floor for 9:48 -- the third lowest on the West behind Andrew Bynum who hurt himself and Steve Nash who is in his late 30's.

This one felt a lot like Drexler back in 93, unfortunately.

Scott Brooks has lost my respect.  Same with Kevin Durant.  KD will be there multiple times, there was no need for him to play 40 minutes and shotjack for the MvP award.  Pathetic, greedy display.  But, can't blame him.  Might as well rack up those ASG Mvps since you aint winning a championship KD.

"Byron Scott to play Roy a West-High 28 minutes and boy, Brandon didn't disappoint."

that stood out to me a west high 28 minutes. this year was so lopsided for minutes and scott brooks basically handed mvp to durrant and tried to get westbrook recognition too.

i really wanted to see aldridge play with nash or chris paul cause they can actually lob but he played mostly with westbrook and you know he isnt passing the rock.

i hope westbrook durrant and blake all tired themselves out and loose some games this week.

the entire allstar weekend was a joke to me. i caught a couple min of the rising stars and was happy blakes team lost cause shaq was so excited to have him and lin. then i caught like 10minutes of that stupid dunk contest. seriously why not just give it up.

it should have been lebron, eliot williams, iggy, and nate robinson. and go back to old rules. 1 try and you're done if you miss then you suck. 2minutes of people missing is incredibly boring.

The all star game is really becoming a joke and hey look at me contest. Its not about winning or defense, as in a show. I mean hey, its all star game..go have fun!!..but its alittle too much. And yes I totally agree...Brooks did not play Aldridge as much as he should have, really lost some respect points there. I think that KD was going for the mvp from the get go. He was just shooting and shooting, you could tell. And anytime Westbrook has the ball, he is not looking to pass.

But also...LA didnt look like he was really wanting the ball...I mean I kept my eyes on him the whole time he was out there, and he kinda stayed low...kept saying..Go LA..just stick around the rim or go to the hole and youll get points, because no one is playing D.  If he would have played with cp3 or Parker more, sure he would have more points.

Did you see Rose look at Lebron and the bunch who were dancing when they got introduced? lol..hes like ok...
I like Rose...lika LA...hes more of a down to earth guy..not too much drama...anyways yeah this game sucked...Go LA!

I wish they would make the All-Star game determine which conference gets homecourt advantage in the finals so that they have a reason to try and care..... ******OPINION*******

I think LA wanted a break.Allstar game is about ego and nothing else I dont watch it. When I was a kid I liked it but now that I am older I just wait for the season to start back up. LA knows what he is worth in Portland and he knows he is better than Griffenstien. He probably also knows that while he is in Portland he will never be able to hangout with the "in crowd" in the NBA, and from what I am seeing in him he is ok with that

Nice Idea but I think the TWolves trade is very lobsided in our favor

Derrick Williams and Budinger are proven players in the league. Claver and Freeland are not

Hawes was playing nice this season and would be a good pick up imo ...

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.
