Was this the game that gets Portland over the hump in close games?
Yes: Won in a tough environment without our superstar (4)
     57%
No: Still just 2-9 now, instead of 1-10 (3)

    Trail Blazers (15-14) @ Warriors (11-14)

The perfect storm could be brewing in Oakland for the Trail Blazers tonight. In the middle of three games in three nights and already with a loss under their belts against the Wizards and without their franchise player, Portland must face a red-hot Golden State team who has won three in a row in a building where Rip City has been denied access for as long as anyone can remember. Since the spring of 2005, the Trail Blazers are 1-12 in their past 13 meetings at Oracle Arena, including a 101-93 loss on January 25.

As mentioned, LaMarcus Aldridge will not travel with the team tonight and could miss a couple of games due to a left ankle sprain he suffered in the opening minutes during last night's loss to the Wizards. Aldridge went for his patented turn-around fadeaway jump shot, which found nothing but nylon, but came down awkwardly on Trevor Booker's foot. Without LA, it is being reported that Craig Smith will get the start in his place.

Who will step up for the Blazers tonight? Who's going to be the man? During his first start of the season, Nicolas Batum took full advantage of the opportunity placed in front of him, tying his career-high with 33 points on 12-24 shooting and brought the house down on more than one occasion with big-time blocks and highlight reel slams. Will it be Batum who the Blazers lean on tonight or will it come from somebody else?

Looking forward to see what smith can do with the minutes, I really like his game, he reminds me of Larry Johnson from when he played for the Knicks. Now if Wallace can be transformed into spreewell maybe we can choke out a win in Oakland. Seriously though we should try and slow this game down and win by playing tough d.

If getting embrassed by the Wizards at home didn't Piss off or light a fire under this team I don't know what will but, with LA going out it probably didn't one thing I did see that was good from last night game was Batum looked great starting at the 2 it make are starting line even longer when LA get back and wesley coming of the bench lit alittle fire under him so hopefully he starts playing well. As for tonight game I just want to see a sense of urgency, some passion, some fire, hopefully last night lost of LA and the game will give us that.

Hack 'em! They're Warriors!! You gotta send a messege, don't bring that weak stuff up in here! You don't have to throw cheap shots, but a good, solid, clean foul can give attacking players something else to think about besides the ball going through the net.

Good win but I can't get all of these games we should have won, but lost off of my mind. I just have a bad feeling it's going to bite us in the butt come April.

BA-TUUUUUMM SHOCK-A-LOCKA. even when he doesn't get 30 he's beasting on defense, and i like his new attitude scowling at the refs and getting pumped by posterizing half the other team.

Dont think they trade him for JJ tho, they can just sign Hickson.

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...

I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
