5:00 PM | New Orleans Arena | New Orleans, LA
    Trail Blazers (14-12) @ Hornets (4-22)

Losing two straight on your home court is exactly the opposite way the Trail Blazers wanted to leave the Rose City as they head for the road for a quick two-game trip. Luckily for the Men in Black, a date with the Hornets is on tap and if there's one team in the Western Conference to solve your road woes against, it would be the New Orleans Hornets. At 4-22, N.O. is the owners of the West's worst record and they are a chilly 2-13 in the Crescent City. Not to mention, Portland already won at the New Orleans Arena earlier this year, a sluggish 84-77 MLK Day matinee.

While Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon absent during that contest due to injury, Ariza has since healed and returned to the starting lineup. Is that such a bad thing for Portland though? Ariza shot just 3-10 from the floor for 6 points in 38 minutes in New Orleans' 67-90 loss last night against Chicago. Although Ariza is back, Carl Landry is out with a second degree MCL sprain. But again, Landry was not a factor in the two teams' last meeting as he only played 10 minutes, scoring just a single point and grabbing a mere two rebounds.

This game comes down to desperation. Just how badly do the Trail Blazers want to shake off the cobwebs on the road? On paper, this is a five-star lock. The talent is weighed so heavily in the Trail Blazers' favor. But they have to want it! It took a halftime speech from LaMarcus Aldridge the first time around to wake up the sleep from their haze. If the Trail Blazers come out with the defensive pressure and hustle on offense that we have come to see from them at various point sthis season, they win handily, the reserves get some run and this nagging two-game losing streak can vanish away into the New Orleans night.

Must win road trip they have to go 2-0 I think it was go that we lost the Rocket game because hopefully it will get the guys to not rely on home court to bail them out after a bad road trip it's all about mental toughness.

as a long time blazer fan and a fan of effort and hustle i'd like to say this team is an embarrassment. we have the pieces to be elite and everyone is settling for mediocrity. i wouldn't blame paul allen if he called it quits on our team this year as it seems our team has called it quits on us. you don't treat the best fans in the sport like this. this new orleans game is terrible, we should kill this team and we are playing to their level like we've done with terrible teams all year. check yourselves players and coaches.

    Post-Game Quotes:
    Nate McMillan on the win-
“It was one of the things we talked about before the game was we needed to get a win. Sometimes it’s not about how you win, but the fact that you win. New Orleans played hard and they scrapped and played a good game. We did the things we needed to do down the stretch. We had to work and execute. We did not rebound the ball well the first half. We had to rebound and get stops the second half, and we did that to get a win.”
    Jamal Crawford on scoring 31-

“It was a team effort. We have two all stars here in Gerald Wallace and LaMarcus Aldridge that make it easy. I was just playing my role. I was trying to spark the game from the bench.”

I thought we could just turn on the bug zapper and have the Hornets do themselves in. But they had some fight left in 'em, and we had to stomp on those bugs!!

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

Jermaine O''Neal, Drazen, Z-Bo, Sheed (I know he was already a star but still). Also Drazen was buried under Drexler and Porter.

EZ, are you kidding me? You essentially want to trade LMA for Noel, or worse, DEANDRE JORDAN?

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.

Special K, aren''t you a cereal? And yes, Batum is expensive, but I think he''s worth it. Why would you take someone who isn''t is as good, just for less money. Then why don''t we take the worst possible player and pay him the least possible amoun...
