Crawford was just not hitting to start the season, and it was painful to watch.  But his last 5 games have overall been stellar, especially shooting the ball.  Shooting 49.1%, averaging 4.8 assists including 10 against Phoenix and 8 last night against Denver.  Hopefully Felton is alright.  I'm hoping that he too just needs a little time to hit his groove.  But I'm alright with Crawford running point in Ray's absence.  Call me crazy.  Especially if he keeps up his good shooting.

Agreed, I like Crawford better than Felton at the point because he shoots better.

I'm still skeptical of Crawford as a full-time point for even a few games. Regardless of your opinion on Felton, he is quick as a cat and get split the defenses. LA may not be get as many lobs from his point guard, but he is getting better looks inside. I feel like Jamal is good at the pick and roll but other than that it can get dicey. I still don't think he knows when to shoot or pass when playing that role. Barrett even commented last night how Coach was yelling at Jamal to shoot as he was passing up wide open shots. Don;t get me wrong, Crawford has been shooting better. But I'm be lying if I wasn't skeptical if he had to run the show for an entire game.

Agree with DHawes. Just because Crawford can handle the ball and shoot (and sometimes get assists) does NOT qualify him as a pointguard. I'm stoked Jamal is hitting his shot a little more consistently, but the proper way to utilitize that is at the 2, so he can feel more comfortable shooting and not have to worry about making the decision to shoot or pass like what we say last night.

If we play Crawford at the 1 in place of Felton, we're spreading him too thin and he will not perform the way we want him to, especially in the clutch... if he's here to be our 4th quarter guy and a game finisher / clutch shooter, the last thing we want him thinking about is whether he should take that clutch shot, or drive partway in and dish it out.

On top of that, why is Nolan Smith (and Armon Johnson) taking up a roster spot as a backup pg if all they're gonna do is watch the big boys? I have no problem sending AJ back to the DLeage, let him crush that game instead of ruining ours with subpar gameplay... but Rollin Nolan Smith is a player the Blazers have been watching for years. He's not one of those guys that did 1 year of college and then drafted, he instead played for years in the NCAA and dominated the game at times. So, he's smart, more experienced, played at a high level... and in his limited minutes for the Blazers, he's shown great potential as a quick, maneuverable, and confident young pointguard of the future.

Let Nolan grow some now instead of waiting til he's not a rookie to play him. Don't push him to the side and make Jamal pull double-duty.

Start Nolan. I don't care if he plays 4 or 12 minutes in the first quarter, start him. Jamal can finish the game as the point guard but I hate starting Crawford. We need his pop off of the bench. And I agree with Blazer247, Nolan's got to get his feet wet sometime, so why not now? I hate to break it to everyone, but we aren't winning the title this year so where's the risk? We drafted this kid ahead of Faried and he doesn't even play. Why do't we give him a shot if Ray can't go?

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
