    When will the world come around? Blake Griffin is now getting his 2nd All-Star appearance in the 2 years he's been playing in the NBA. I have to ask... was he ever given a chance to be ordinary? His whole career is based on media hype, and he's secured All-Star status solely with dunking ability. If that's the case, someone better warn this Kobe guy about Elliot Williams because clearly being a team leader, consistent scorer, and all-around better basketball player means nothing when you can fly high and dunk against a porous defense.

    The only silver lining is that Griffin's playing in the NBA, which will expose him as the phony he is before too long. I just wish the rest of the world would start to realize that he is not a very good basketball player. And when will the media stop handing glory to players who did nothing to earn it?

    The media have to glorify him. Clippers games are on National TV twice a week.

    never have liked him, never will. camby to aldridge > paul to griffin. TNT should be begging comcast to give up our games.

    Speaking about Blake Griffin, I don't think he deserves to be in the all-star...all of us know that he can dunk...he won last year's dunk contest...so what?he never shows other things and for me, most of his dunks are the same...there are several dunks that are great but he doesn't deserve to get lots of attention from the NBA and media...honestly, I was upset that the L.A. Clippers always on the highlight...they always got at least one highlight every night they played...for me, there are some other team's performance that need to be looked at..the Blazers also one of the teams that need to get some attention from the media...there are some great performances by the Blazers (Wallace's dunk against Charlotte Bobcats, Batum's dunk against Phoenix Suns, William's dunk against Phoenix Suns, Camby's block party against Charlotte Bobcats, etc.)

    he's good, but for sure not better than K. Love and above all than LA. Will see in PO, but I think he is more valuable than Aldridge.

    Trust me I hate BG as much as the next Blazer fan.  The most irritating part is that he looks like he believes his own hype right now.

    But, as much as I like to make fun of "lob city" etc.  You have to admit that it takes more than just being tall to get position to dunk or pack a lob pass.  He's in his second year and he's a leader on an NBA team.  If we somehow got BG on the Blazers, there would be a ton of his jerseys in the stands overnight....

    Clips start a 6 game road trip.  They are 3-4 on the road (only 7 road games!).  We'll see if some of the hysteria cools down after this road trip.  If they come out still in first place, get ready for more of the same.

    I'm not saying he doesn't put out great highlight plays. He knows how to dunk, and how to get position to dunk. And how to dunk over a car. And dunk dunk dunk dunk.

    But his being a team leader is about as ungounded as his being an all-star. Think about it. If Chris Paul, Caron Butler, and Chauncey Billups had all been on the Clippers last year, would Griffin have been a team captain or leader of any kind?
