7:30 PM | Oracle Arena | Oakland, CA
    Trail Blazers (11-7) @ Warriors (5-11)

Two down, one to go. After successfully knocking off the Kings and Grizzlies to start of the first of two back-to-back-to-backs, the Trail Blazers' toughest test will come in the finale as they head down to the Bay to battle the Warriors. Although Golden State is only a five win team and has only handled their business at home three times in nine tries, they are still dangerous -- Chicago, New York, and Miami have all fallen by the Bay. And let's not forget Portland's troublesome time playing in Oakland. Since the 2005-06 season, the Trail Blazers are 1-10 at Oracle Arena.

For the Trail Blazers to complete the trifecta, they must use their size as an advantage. Aldridge has been on tear lately and he should be a matchup nightmare for David Lee and Ekpe Udoh. Also, Portland needs to defend the three-point line as Golden State has a plethora shooters just waiting to unleash an areal assault. And finally, stay true to themselves. What that means is do not get caught up in the Warriors' fun and gun style of play. Although Portland has been running more lately, they are still new to the game, whereas their opposition has been playing at breakneck speeds for decades. The biggest thing is limiting turnovers. If the Trail Blazers can take care of the ball and commit no more than 13 turnovers, then that means the tempo is at their liking and they aren't giving GS any easy buckets.

But the real key to winning is Gerald Wallace. At home, he's a superstar averaging 20 points, on 65% FG shooting and 40% from 3, along with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal per outing in front of the BlazerManiacs. It's been a whole other story on the road. Crash shoots just 30% from the floor, including 17% from 3 while scoring only 8 points. What Gerald Wallace Portland gets is anyone's best guess. And after seemingly re-aggravating his sprained finger in the third quarter during the victory over Memphis, he may not be 100% which could affect his shooting. Even if his shot isn't falling, Crash can still make an impact by wreaking havoc on the Golden State offense: playing the passing lanes, swatting shots, and taking charges.

the back court will be hard to stop, if im couch i consider running batum at the 2 some tonight to try and slow them when wes gets rest. i think batum and nolan smith do great and pressuring the back court. but i got to hand it to my man felton too, i knew he could play point, distribute, and score when he came here, but his defensive intensity has surprised me. he's not going to block shots but he's been working hard, pressuring, and getting a steal or creating the opportunities for someone else to get a steal. Play like we did last night and we win. relax a little and the warriors will take advantage like they have often in the past.

I hope the Blazers took some 5 hour energy because they are going to need it tonight we can talk about who need to do what but, if no one has the energy or effort to do it then the gameplan useless energy, effort, containing the guards and limited turnovers will give us a chance to win.

This last couple of minutes were disgusting to me, and here's why: the amount of passing from shooters is getting excessive. There's a fine line between unselfish play and being gun-shy. I know Matthews and Crawford (even Batum) have shot lower percentages that they typically do, but the complete drop-off in attempts is not the way to go either. Yes, it's good to pass inside, but time and time again I see wide open jump shots passed up to make a pass to LA, who is already being double teamed WITHOUT the ball; guess what usually happens... a turnover.

The fatigue really did us in tonight. The pick and roll defense was not typical of this Blazer team and that's what killed us. David Lee is going to hit open jumpers all night long if we leave him and that's what happened. Also, whenever we play lax defense on the perimeter, teams seem to just kills us. It happened with Orlando and it happened again tonight in Oakland.

This game turned when the Warriors went zone on us and we had no shooters in the game to break it. Why Coach refused to play Batum more minutes  (23) is beyond me. It's obvious Wallace is bothered by the sprained finger, so why not play the younger Batum? We need to rest Gerald until he's 100% because he's just hurting our half-court offense right now. He's missing lay-ups, not hitting threes and not playing like himself. I know he'll break out of his funk, but for now, maybe rest is the recipe for success.

If David Lee had missed one jumper in the 4th, I swear we would've had overtime.... but noooooo!!

I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
