Do the Trail Blazers go as Gerald Wallace goes?
Yes- When he's on his game, we're nearly unbeatable (5)
No- He's important to team success but it's a team game (3)

    Trail Blazers (9-6) @ Pistons (3-13)

The Trail Blazers will make one final stop on this six-game road trip and it culminates with a matchup in Motown against the Pistons. Already sitting at 2-3 so far on this roadie, Portland will need no further motivation against the lifeless Pistons who have dropped four straight and are owners of one of the league's worst records at 3-13. For the Trail Blazers it's another must win against an inferior opponent. A win ensures a .500 road trip. With everyone that has gone wrong on this trip, there's no shame in heading back to the Rose City with three road wins under their belts. A loss and BlazerManiacs could be left scratching their heads the rest of the weekend. This game is also the last contest before the Men In Black partake in the vaunted back-to-back-to-back scenario and any momentum heading up to that stretch of games would be welcomed with open arms.

Although the Trail Blazers weren't able to blow the doors off the Air Canada Centre and let the Raptors hang around until the final buzzer, resulting in every starter not named Marcus Camby playing 34+ minutes. But all was not lost. 10 Trail Blazers saw action and the return of Camby and Nicolas Batum really seemed to light a spark under the squad. Normally playing the home team on the second night of a back-to-back would be a disadvantage for the Trail Blazers but the Pistons hosted the Grizzlies at the Palace of Aurburn Hills on Friday night and it was not pretty for the home team, losing handily to Memphis, 98-81. Detroit doesn't give off the impression they'll do anything to win so as long as the Trail Blazers come out strong in the first quarter, they should leave the Motor City energized with a victory.

Aldridge is coming off of a historic performance as he tallied 33 points and 23 rebounds and he did so against the young Raptor bigs. He'll get a chance at a sequel against second-year post Greg Monroe. If Monroe can't get the job done, look for Detroit to put veteran Ben Wallace on the longer Aldridge. For Portland to be successful, they need to once again force the ball into Aldridge and make the defense react. If they leave LA alone on one defender, he'll score in a plethora of ways. But if they decide to double, LA has shown the ability to pass out of the trap as he racked up five assists against the Raptors.

warning dont read this if you dont like hate
warnign dont read this if you like luke
warning dont read this if you want em to be positive

the moment in the game the hole was dug, babbitt not guarding his guy (prince) and letting him get a free jump shot in which momentum switched over to detroit, 5 straight bad moves by babbitt poor defense miss jump shot miss three then jamal air ball jumpover only for babitt to have a sloppy play. right there was the moment blazer pulled out the shovel and dug them selves into a hole and once babbitt was takign out the moemntum still in favor of detroit prince hits a shot and then stuckey dunk. there was the moment blazers found them selves down 13

thats why i hated on babbitt, i ignored the missed shots if he hadnt let prince get hot and play poor defense, nate likes defense and he showed non ill take babitts missed shots early cuz he needs confidence but wide open shots need to be knocked down

    Post-Game Quotes:

    Nate McMillan on tonight's loss-
"You can’t flip a switch in this league and I thought we tried to flip a switch against these guys tonight and that’s not going to work. You have to come in being ready to play. I didn't think that offensively we worked to establish ourselves inside. We settled for jumpshot after jumpshot. Not only did we settle for jumpshots but they were contested shots. Only six or seven free throws in the first half and that doesn't show that you are aggressive getting to the basket. You don’t allow any team to get confidence regardless of what their record is whether its good or bad."
    Marcus Camby on team's mentality-
"Up and down; we're frustrated but we have to figure out a way to win them back-to-back. I think that's been our downfall all season. When we get back to Portland we have back-to-back-to-back so we're not looking too far ahead.  We just have to regroup tomorrow and concentrate on Sacramento come Sunday night."
Marcus Camby on the road trip-
"It's a long flight back and we have to think about what was. Going 2-4 is definitely unacceptable. We thought we kicked some ball games that we should've won and tonight we just didn’t give ourselves a chance in the first half after being down double digits in the first half."

Craig Smith was one of the few bright spots from tonight's game. Here are his highlights:

Unfortunately, this team is proving to only be a contender under two conditions.

    1) All games must be played at home.

    2) No games may be played in a back to back scenario.

Losing to a team like Detroit is unacceptable if we want to contend.

guys look tired as rice said almost more mental than physical. maybe they need to quit thinking about the game and just play. they started the season great by just playing the game.

After a long and grueling road trip, we got some slight body damage, and there's a little wobble in the steering wheel. But hey, if you turn the key and it starts, and you step on the brakes and it stops, then you still got a good chance of making it the distance.

I'm sitting here, sick as hell, pucking my brains out and I can't even get alittle solice in the fact that my team can beat a 3-13 team,in the first half it was like NBA live when your just f'ng around, shooting 3's playing bench guys, goofing off.Thats not real basketball and this team reminds me of many of the blazer teams in the past all this talent and just busy goofing off and being cocky

Nah man, the hole was dug when the Blazers couldn't score in the second quarter, and we went down by like 14 before the half. I'm pretty sure Babbitt didn't play until the second half. He was just slippin' in the mud like most of the Blazers tonight.

Nah he was out there in the second quarter along with nolan smith,It was just like when your playing your girlfriend in NBA live and you spot her a lead by goofying around and playing guys off the bench.LOL why don't they take these teams serious.I mean they can beat OKC or The Lakers whenever they want,I'd love a first round matchup with OKC.When the blazers take a team serious they can run them but alot of times they just mess around like the did with detroit and Phoenix and even new orleans alittle bit and think they can turn the switch like a video game, and It doesn't work that way.I wish it did. I understand resting dudes and trying to get the younger guys PT,and against a 3-13 team it makes sense but we are in 9th place so no time to mess around
