the blazers have lost four of their last six games after a promising 5-1 start. so what's going on? is is lack of consistency? lack of energy? fatigue? inefficient coaching? something else?

what would you say is wrong?

    how would you fix it?

we do not fix anything, I think! sure we lost 4 of 6 games, but
vs Suns - it was bad day, we should forget about it
vs Magic - Orlando is good team, and their %fg... you know....
vs Spurs - San Antonio 8-0 at home, no comment, this defeat it's not problem for us...
vs Rockets - ok, it is not good, but I think Houston is's not bad team, above all at home. And it was defeat in OT, whitout Camby

Of course we got some problems (% for 3, Camby injury, sometimes to many TO), but these lost games are to justify. Now in NO I expect victory...

More plays going to the basket. The offense flattens out on the baseline, then a gunner starts running around picks like a chicken with his head cut off. I'm starting to get dizzy watching the Blazers offensive sets. Let alone imagining what it must be like to shoot the ball after sprinting in 13 different circles. Keep it simple, if guys have to shoot fadeaway jumpers coming of picks, then it's not a good play. The Flex offense looks like a Flex capacitor right now. Maybe if we shove some bannanas down the thing, it might start working again? But I've never been a fan of hiding Blazers in both corners on offense. It makes it way too easy for opponents to start transition opportunities, when all the Blazers are stashed on the baseline.

It's early. Playoff time is when you get worried. After seeing Marcus taking a spill, all I want for Christmas (June) is a healthy team. These guys can make it happen. Playoff position is important but not at the cost of a key player.

in no way, shape or form am i saying it's panic time. however, all four of the losses have been winnable games that, if we want to make it past the first round of the playoffs, we're going to show we can win.

it's early and you may say the playoffs is when you worry. however, you have to actually make the playoffs before you can be concerned with them.

    @Tobyus: all of the above.

offense has looked flat and boring only people putting in effort are nic and C smith. as a dedicated fan i expect max effort every game. i like that jcross is looking to pass more as a PG, but he needs to get his shot back. felton same thing, they are being so unselfish that they aren't hitting shots they should. i think those decisions will be better made as the season goes on. glad to see nic is getting more time, didn't get to watch today but saw he's getting even minutes with wallace and producing great last 2 games. hope he keeps it up and guys start looking for him. his defense is amazing and his offense has loads of potential and i see him really trying to grow. hope we keep nic long term.

i agree when we are moving on offense it seems to be in a bunch of random circles instead of well designed cuts to the hoop. i think this unnecesary movement is wearing guys out, put effort in the defense for fast break points, and if the fast break isnt there settle down to some good offense through aldridge with cutters to the basket. nic and crash should be able to catch passes from aldridge all day if he doesnt have his shot. quit jacking so many 3's and attack.

and one huge point without camby, we need aldridge crash and nic to be rebounding beasts.

One thing broke...HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. If the Blazers want to keep winning we either need to learn to play away...Or...Play all of our games at home.

Anyone not worried about this team is in denial. With a rickety old center already hurt and no real back up it will be a long short season. And why does Portland management continue to believe Oden will be the answer?? This is the million dollar question. I could never unerstand why Portland traded Joel Przybilla. Is he still active? Even out of shape they could use him now. Is he still a Bobcat? I checked out the Bobcat lineup and he's not listed.

What's broken is Camby's ankle and 1st half shooting from the starting squad.  If you discount the first Clipper game and the Suns game the Blazers were doing OK until Orlando came to town, Camby went down, and it rained 3's for 4 quarters.  It's amazing the Blazers almost won that game, and they might have if it weren't the second night of a back to back, and for a stupid foul by Batum.  Sh1t happens, and I wasn't all that concerned about that loss.

It's the Spurs and Rockets games that really hurt.  Both opponents played pretty well (Lowry looked like an all-star) and the Blazers starting squad looked flat.  Crawford, Rhino, and Batum are good enough to hold off opponents and keep us in games.  They are not good enough to come back from 10 point deficits and win games on the road.  If LMA, Crash, and Thomas (Camby) can't find a way to get off early and play consistently then we will continue to drop close games on the road and be a 1st round playoff team.

effort. It was there - then it wasn't... even in the NO game for the most part. Whoever wants it more is going to win it most nights. For sure all of those losses were winnable games. Just look at the 4th quarter in the Orl game. That's what this team can do. Too little too late though here lately. Games like the Phx game... those are the ones we HAVE to win. Road game or not, you have to win the ones you're supposed to win. Everything is here to have a great season this year. Everybody else in the league was starting to notice it. What happened to the effort? Did the blazers start reading all the crap on the internet? Effort - that's it. Out work the other team from tip to buzzer and see what happens.

It's amazing what going to your superstar can do for the offense. This is why LA needs to touch the ball on nearly every possession, because he's a walking matchup nightmare for the opposition. He commands double teams which gives the rest of the squad wide open looks which is a great way to break out of shooting slumps.

you look at the ball pressure when the blazers got off to the fast start. it was in all of their games but the denver game. ball pressure is energy. i personally dont believe the blazers will find consistancy with the ball pressure until after the allstar break.
thank you NBA, and thank you NBPA for the lack of consistant play throughout the league.

Well, the lottery is tomorrow, so fingers crossed. What my issue is, is that why would the Bucks trade away one of their best players, and potential DPOY for many years to come, for Nic Batum and a bunch of picks in a weak draft?
