    Trail Blazers (7-5) @ Hornets (3-9)
    There may not be a better remedy in the Western Conference than a matchup against the New Orleans Hornets. After stubbing their toe on the Texas Two-Step, Portland tries to regain their momentum they seemingly had just a few days ago when they were knocking off the Clippers in front of the BlazerManics. While it wasn't very loud in Houston or San Antonio, both squads protect home court at all costs, posting a combined 12-1 record at home. It's a different story in New Orleans. Like the other two arenas the Trail Blazers have seen on this trip, the fans won't be a factor but that's where the comparisons stop. The Hornets are only 1-5 in the Big Easy and haven't won in front of their fans since the Home Opener against the Celtics.

    While the Trail Blazers will most likely be without Marcus Camby, the Hornets have been bit by the injury bug even harder. Their starting wingmen, Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon are both out. Gordon will miss 1-2 weeks with a bruised right knee and Ariza has been battling a nagging groin injury. Although that seems like a lot of firepower missing in action, New Orleans has just what gives Portland fits -- size, and lots of it. They start Emeka Okafor and Chris Kaman down low and can bring in Carl Landry off the bench.

    That being said, there will be two major keys for the Trail Blazers must do if they want to avoid a four-game losing streak: rebounding and energy. In the first quarter against Houston, Portland got out-muscled on the glass, 16-3. If Camby can't go, everyone needs to help the big crash the boards. New Orleans only shoots a 22nd best, .429 from the floor, so expect the ball to carom off the rim if you're a Blazer. And as mentioned, their arena can be quiet. Some may think that is an advantage for the opposition, but it's not. Even hostile energy is still energy and can motivate. But if the place is quiet and you're on the road, it comes down to you and our teammates generating all of the energy. Hopefully LA can finish a hammer dunk or Batum can have another chase-down block to ignite the men in black.

    Went with Batum. He played with a lot of swagger, which is always key for him. Talent has never been the issue, but he's been taking the initiative a lot of offense and creating his own buckets even without the ball. The rebounding, cuts, and positioning has been great. If Batum can keep this up, we'll be lethal in the postseason.

    Nice win today for our team,But it was a game we needed to win,nothing to be proud of,just winning a game we are supposed to win

    I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
