WHY NOT KOBE???

    Now that Phil Jackson has all but retired, Kobe Bryant may opt out of his contract with L.A and become a Free Agent this offseason. I know we hate him because he is a Laker but starting him at SF would provide us more than enough talent to win a championship or two. What do you guys think? Good or Bad idea?
    I am a fan of WHY THE HECK HAVE WE NOT EXTENDED BRANDON ROY'S CONTRACT???

    Kobe won't opt out. And if he comes to portland, where does that leave good ole brandon? They're roles on teams are too similar, it would leave no place for roy to shine. We don't need a superstar player anyway. I hate to say it cause I would love to see martell and jerryd be starters and everyone feel great about that, but what we need is a guy like rashard lewis. Solid ffrom 3, doesn't need to dominate the ball on offense. And maybe a point guard like jose calderon

    That could NEVER happen. He couldn't fit in with our team. I personally despise that jerk... Not because he's good, but because of his stupid ego. I think I speak for most Blazer fans, that would be the biggest mistake our franchise could make! He's costs way too much and Pritchard would never go after him. Thank God!

    Realistically, we have our core and you wouldn't want to mess with it. I saw this post and my BP about went through the roof. As Blazer Fans you can not even fathom how horrible this would be to the franchise from a PR standpoint. As a fan of another team you would be quaking in your boots at how GREAT the Blazers would be, I personally can't go there. For me, I say no because he is an arrogant jerk, he should have actually spent jail time for that rape, and he is the face of the Lakers organization for the last 9 years or so. Not to mention the same spot is already filled by a great individual and gifted ball player. Yes, Kobe could play the 3 and brandon the 2, but both need the ball in their hand, both are alpha males, there would be egos clashing like nobody's business. From a business stand point, he would too expensive for lots of trouble and major protests. Please fans though, please don't take this discussion as a possibility, it is just discussion. It has not been tossed around, don't get all emotional, it is just for discussion's sake.

    Kobe won't be opting out. If Phil goes whoever behind the bench will be who Kobe wants. (Maybe he can convince Coach K this time) Could he work on the Blazers? Who knows. It is a problem we don't have to worry about. Imagine seeing Kobe Blazer jerseys. Madness.

    Wow... Y'all are hatin' on Kobe. I agree of course that he would not fit with our team. I have no desire to bring Kobe Bryant to Portland. I was just seeing if everyone else thought the same way. (And everyone does!)
