Wow, that's all for Outlaw I guess RipCity nation is really down on Travis but I guess with the current configuration of the squad (as you have it, pretty good) then that type of Outlaw trade would make sense huh?

yeah, I think Ruffin is a FA and Portland is not resigning him. Either way, I don't think Randolph or Ruffin will be in a Blazer uniform next year. I would expect to see a shallow bench and possibly an empty I/R list. I wouldn't mind just making the trades neccessary to fill needs and then filling in the extra spaces with draft picks, Freeland and Koponen. Just to see how they all pan out.

are you saying we get rid of Frye too? because i don't see him in your equation.  I think we are going to need Frye in there especially if we get rid of Outlaw.  Say for some reason Aldridge get hurt, do you really think Pendegraph sharing time with Ruffin is going to help us win any games?

People, Frye is an unrestricted FREE AGENT. Frye will NOT be back next season because his agent HOEFULLY is smarter than to allow that. If he isn't going to play here in Portland he needs to go somewhere he is useful. Please, before you make your lineups, do your research as to who might actually still be here come the start of the 2009-2010 season.

    Okay, that is almost right. This is what I think;

    PG:Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayless
SG:Brandon Roy, Rudy Fernandez, Victor Claver
SF:Martell Webster, Nicolas Batum, Travis Outlaw
    PF:LaMarcus Aldridge, Pendergraph, Channing Frye
    C:Joel Przybilla, Greg Oden

    RESERVES:
    Shavlik Randolph, Michael Ruffin
I am a fan of how great these blazers did in the 2010 playoffs! i know we lost, but it was still fun to watch. we'll go farther next year!!

BlazerFan4Ever5, you have some of errors.
    1. Channing Frye has been released to Free Agency today and WILL NOT PLAY FOR PORTLAND EVER AGAIN.
    2. Victor Claver is not a shooting guard, he is a Small Forward.
    3. Victor Claver is not playing in the U.S for two years

So that basically leaves what I wrote for the lineups next year, except for Outlaw whom I believe is traded to add cash to our cap space before the free agent market looms. Once that happens we can go after a very good free agent in Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, or maybe even Andre Miller. I left out any of those three because they each have an equal chance of being in a blazer uniform next year.

And it is all but etched into stone that Claver isn't going to come over until his European Contract is up because Portland wants to save the salary cap room, plus he's more of a SF/PF not a SG. He would be a 6'9" 235 lb Guard. He has good moves for a PF, but not good enough to be a guard. If I were Nate and Pritchard, this would be my line up:

    PG: Kidd, Blake/Bayless, Roy
    SG: Roy, Rudy, Bayless, Webster
    SF:Webster, Batum, Roy, Rudy
    PF: LA, Freeland, Pendergraph
    C: Oden, Przybilla, LA, Freeland

    Reserves: Koponen, Mills

Koponen can play both PG and SG so he would probably get some minutes intermixed. I also think Kidd, although the starter wouldn't play huge minutes and Blake and Bayless will play close to equal minutes with Bayless picking up some minutes at the SG spot. I think they need to see what some of their guys can do before they relinquish the rights to them. You might see a sign and trade or a multi-team deal that sends Outlaw elsewhere and brings Kidd (or Nash, Heinrich, whoever) into Portland. I don't want a guy that has more than 2-3 years left in the league taking that starting PG position unless Bayless is ready for it and we don't know it yet. I think depth at the 4 is our hardest thing to overcome because of the versatility of our smaller players we are only limited in the post. Everywhere else we are overloaded with available talent.

just wanted to say one thing....does anyone remember how many time's Odom almost got in fights with the blazers? Do you really think KP is gonna bring that guy in? He seems to have it in his head he's equal to Kobe, and he's really not. I don't think he's a good player, and honestly, he annoys me, not sure why, just does.  As far as outlaw goes, im sure that theres a lot of teams that would love him, and if i remember he's in the last year of his contract, so he better bring his a game, or portland should dump him while they can still get something for him. So realisticaly, say your KP and you have outlaw and the team we have no, picks, everything. So take Outlaw and picks/players and who do you think we could swing a trade for? I must say, i have a bit of a soft spot for bringing Kevin Love back home.

Here's my line-up next year, what seems most realistic/best: PG: Andre Miller, Bayless/Patty Mills SG: Roy, Rudy SF: Webster/Turkoglu/Batum (some combination thereof) PF: LA, Outlaw, Pendergraph C: Oden Przybilla, Insurance Big Notes: The latest rumor has it that Andre Miller is coming over from Philly in a sign-and-trade, with Steve Blake going back. This I fully support, as Miller had more AST last year than Blake (6.5) WHILE being Philly's second-leading scorer (at 16.2 PPG). That means he is both a good passer AND can score, which is an upgrade over Blake (don't get me wrong, I love Blake and his playing, I'm just stating that factually, Miller is better). I honestly believe that Patty Mills will not only make the team, but will probably eat out Bayless for the backup spot before the end of the season, as he has been a starter in the Olympics and is quick as lightning. He needs to improve his passing, but let's face it, so does Bayless. With this lineup, we have a serious logjam at SF. Webster, Turkoglu, and Batum all bring something different to the table, and they all have their shortcomings. Batum and Turkoglu are kind of like a yin and yang here, as Turkoglu can't play D and Batum is a our best perimeter defender. I really want to see Travis Outlaw traded, as he is a stupid, selfish player, but given managements reluctance to trade him, and Turkoglu not really being a PF with toughness that we are looking for, it looks like he is staying. And with there not being ANY buzz about Freeland whatsoever from anywhere, I highly doubt he is coming over. And I don't what people say, we NEED an insurance body for the frontcourt. Hell, sign Raef LaFrentz again. We need someone for when Oden gets hurt. (Were I KP, I would absolutely act under the assumption I'm only going to have Oden for 2/3 of the season.)

I don't get why everybody doesn't like Travis. Hes Roys best friend and if we trade him that will effect Roys decision to stay here plus  hes a good player. He has to be because he was in the top five canidates for sixth man of the year twice. So I belive the line up should go like this.

    PG:Blake, Bayless

    SG:Roy, Rudy,Webster

    SF:Webster,Batum,Outlaw

    PF:Aldridge,Outlaw, Pendergraph

    C:Oden,Pryzbilla

    Reserve:Ruffin

    1) S. Blake | N. Bayless
    2) B. Roy | R. Fernandez
    3) M. Webster | N. Batum (this will be close)       H. Turkoglu will own this spot if we get him!
    4) L. Aldridge | T. Outlaw
    5) G. Oden | J. Pryzbilla (joel is consistent but we need our future to get exp)

I don't think there is much and team can do to match up. We will have 3 beastly scorers! Oden crashing the boards! And blake making the three look like a free throw! Not to mention every bench player can play to the level of the starters!

Here are my updated, POSSIBLE 2009-2010 lineups.

    PG: Andre Miller, Jerryd Bayless

    SG: Brandon Roy, Rudy Fernandez

    SF: Hedo Turkoglu, Nicolas Batum

    PF: Lamarcus Aldridge, Travis Outlaw

    C: Greg Oden, Joel Przybilla

Blake and Webster will be packaged and sent to Philadelphia for Andre Miller. Travis Outlaw, according to Jason Quick, has made the transition to Power Forward and will be an excellent relief for Lamarcus. Hedo Turkoglu is pretty much a done deal. This team is winning some titles.

Yes Wallace is better than any SF we have currently but I seriously don't think Charlotte is going to let him go to any team, so we're waiting on the H.T. situation. On Sessions I'd rather have a more veteran PG if we we're still getting one in free agency like an Andre Miller but I do like Bass so if it doesn't cost the team too much to get him....then it should be a go.

NO!! NO NO NO NO TO WALLACE!! First: he's had FOUR CONCUSSIONS already, and has never played more than 72 games in a season, EVERY missed game because of injury (he's averaged 58 games per year in 8 seasons). Plus, while his defense is improving, he's a ball-hog. We do NOT need an injury-prone ball-hog SF on this team!

I like most of the lineups, ecxept Outlaw should not be traded. He is a bonafide 6th man. If anything, trade webster or renounce his contract because he makes like $8 million a year, and he's injured. Also they should resign ruffin or randolph or both. they're good players that wouldn't cost any money.

    SG Roy Fernandez
SF Batum Webster (call me crazy but Webster has to earn his starting role)
    PF L-Train, Outlaw
    C   Joel and Oden

I think that we should keep Outlaw (for now) and as I said Wester needs to earn his staring role. I don't think he should be a starter (yet.)

Not sure where that came from, but if Rudy were to be a starter it would be Roy moving to the SF position (Like T-Mac) and Rudy would play starting SG. Which actually wouldn't be bad, but it would move Martel to the back up 2 and he doesn't really have the ball handling skills yet. Rudy can handle the ball though, he never had trouble with that last year infact he made the most phenomenal passes of anyone on the team. I think Portland will be better and continually building leads through out the game with the way the line up is right now. I think if they were to move Rudy to the starting line up they would be able to jump out to bigger leads, but the second unit might not score enough to keep the leads large.

In my mind there are only 3 players that have a lock on a starting spot and that is Roy, Aldridge, and Batum.  If we aquire Miller than he will be the starting point, but if not than blake will still be our guy.  If Oden has improved the way MB says then he will start, but if not I believe he will still come in behind Joel.  We know Rudy will back up Roy, and that Oden and Pryzbilla will be our centers, but the back up PG SF and PF are still a mystery.  But no matter who we sign or who we trade Nate is a smart enough coach to make what he has work to its fullest potential.  I cant wait to see how it is gonna be in the first game!! Are you kidding me Nater? Batum a LOCK at the SF? Not at all. The starting SF is at BEST a toss up between Webster and Batum. If Webster is healthy and conditioned though by the time the season starts he will be the starting SF guaratee. Batum is a GREAT defender but is very inconsistent on offense and is still very young and needs to learn more about the X's and O's of the game. Webster is a GOOD defender and an offensive FORCE. I would say that it will be a toss up between Webster and Batum with Batum taking a solid spot as the second SF. Outlaw becomes the back up 4 with Pendergraph and Cunningham getting sporadic minutes here and there at PF/C. I think Joel starts the year at Center, but Oden will resume that role by the All-Star break. PG, Blake will get the nod for starter. Bayless may or may not take that over by the end of the season. If not this season, Bayless will start most likely next season. Batum is most definitely not a LOCK for starting SF though. Not by a long shot.

Batum is our best defender.  We dont need more offense in the starting line up we need defense.  That is why he will start.  He may still play small minutes because I believe Martel will become our sixth man.  SF and PG are the only spots we have where a bench guy will get significant minutes.  I think we will do like last year except instead of Outlaw coming in first it will be Martel.  He will have starter minutes but coming off the bench.  I think it will be better for the team to have a guy like Martel in when Roy and Aldridge go out.

I disagree. You see with a lot of our offense beig B-Roy driving, Aldrige and Joel playin' the paint, they need someone with a consistent stroke on the perimeter. The second unit is mostly perimeter shooters with the exception of Bayless and Oden. They need a good perimeter defender that can go after rebounds (because Travis doesn't) and is effective near the rim. Incase you missed it Batum posterized Gasol pretty nicely last season. Although Webster can do that, I would rather not push his injury into that type of game. I would rather he be a spot up three shooter for the kick outs so the opponents defense has to stay honest. The defenses can cheat off of Batum, they can't cheat off of Webster. It adds too many weapons for the defense to double up a whole lot on Aldrige AND Roy. When Oden cracks that starting line up, watch out. When you can get consistent offense from 4 of the startig 5 positions it just makes things that much easier for the PG.

You do have a good point, but I love Batum.  It is hard for me to think of him not being a starter.  Especially if he improves his shot the way that it sounds like he has.  Like it or not, Batum is the future of this team at the SF position.  Coach told him to just work on improving his shooting from everywhere this offseason.  If he does, I believe he will have a huge impact on the team.  But back to Martel, I think he will start out with very low minutes.  I think Coach is going to ease him back into the game.  After a month, He will be at big minutes, but it will be a battle.
