Trail Blazers (3-1) @ Thunder (5-1)

Portland's quick two-game road trip ends in Oklahoma City, against the division rival Thunder. Although Oklahoma City took the season series from Portland 3-1 a year ago, every game went down to the wire with the winning team taking the game by an average of under five points. The big question is, how will the Trail Blazers respond after suffering their first defeat of the season? Portland looked a step slow and unsure of themselves away from the friendly confines of the Rose Garden. Outside of the RG, the fans in OKC can be some of the noisiest in the game.

For the Trail Blazers to win a big road game in hostile territory, they need to shutdown one member of the Thunder and no, I'm not talking about Kevin Durant. Russell Westbrook absolutely shredded the Trail Blazers last year and was the reason for their success against Portland. In the four games against Rip City, Russell averaged 27 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and a steal. Maybe most important is to keep him off the line. He found his way to the charity stripe 37 times in 2011, which is nearly 9 times per contest. Portland should play loose on Westbrook and force him to make long-range shots. If he's off, it could be a winning formula for the men in black. We saw Batum play good defense in the second half against the Clippers, so look for him to get the call in crunch time to contain Russ.

On offense, the Trail Blazers must score in the paint and get OKC's big bodies into early foul trouble. If Aldridge can get it going early, it may force the Thunder to double team and if that happens, send the cutters or hit the open shooters. The key to scoring is ball movement, player movement. Be active, aggressive and get to that foul line!

After making the Clippers look like the best defensive team in the NBA my question is will the real Portland Trailblazers please stand up who was that team that played the Clips if that same team shows up in this game expect a blowout. I was hoping we were the ones to give the Thunder their first loss but, the champs beat us to it so that going to make this game more difficult so hopfully we get a lot of bounce back play from some of our guys and show everyone that OKC isn't just going to run away with the division crown. this game is all about pride and effort who wants it more.

A quick start is important in this game. The Blazers have to come in hitting their shots and cutting the lanes and playing tough D. Consider a line up change (wont happen). We have to make Westbrook work on D so he will have tired legs in the 4th quarter. Nic can play the golden child pretty well. Nobody can do anything but slow him down. I am of the opinion that the team has been coming in cold and waiting to see what the opponent is going to do. That can not happen in this game. We have to make them react and adjust to us. Not the other way around. We have to take control from the start of this one, or we lose. Go Blazers

2min left 10 point lead, major difference between clippers game. this game we played 3.5 quarters (took the first half a quarter off) last game we played half a quarter. if we played with this energy last game we are undefeated when we host LA. if we play with this energy every game this team goes in first seed, sorry OKC fan boys.

You can't win them all. Would've liked to have seen better effort against the Clipps, but I couldn't be happier with the start of this season, I don't think. At least until we beat LA on Thursday.

I am a fan of Winning in the playoffs despite all odds.

Fantastic Game. We won 3 quarters on the road against a good defensive team and we can see the results of that. You do that on the road and take care of the ball (only 9 turnovers) it will turn out "W's" every time. Good game Blazers...now let's get the Lakers.

NBA.com has a whole lot of highlight reels on OKC for the game 1 for the Blazers. Cool I want to keep a low profile. The less hype better the concentration

While Aldridge gets the pub for scoring 30, we don't win this game without Wallace keeping Durant honest on defense and forcing him into difficult shots on defense.
