I'm a huge Gerald fan, but he has a player option next year for 12 million which I'm sure he will most certainly pick up. I believe he will turn 30 in July and be 31 after his contract is up. Just how long of a deal are we thinking? He provides the little things that so few players in this league can but I wouldn't want to see him signed to a long term deal and then start to decline.

Also, we can sign Gerald to any deal regardless of having cap space or not. You can always go over the cap to sign your own players.

Batum's first up, we still got a ways until we have to worry about keeping G. Wallace. It's an obvious no-brainer though.

Long term Wallace...I say extend until hes 33 or so then have an option for the 2 years following. Crash is BEAST! and with the new speed we play at. You can't touch him!

I hope we don't break the bank trying to re-sign Batum to a new extension. But I agree with Tobyus that a short deal for Wallace would work best as we don't want to pay him big money after his peak. The question is, is he at his prime right now? If so, how much longer does he sustain it? If he does decline, will there be a noticeable dropoff?

Can't they go over the cap and pay luxory tax? I know the blazers of 1999-2003 were way above the cap those years

The new CBA will soon be destroying teams that go over, as well as limiting their trade abilities if i am recalling correctly.

Cmeese, you want to trade Aldridge too? Seems like you only care that the championships are under the Blazer name, and you''re willing to throw anyone under the bus to get it.

I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

Splitter would fill our needs the best. Pekovic isn''t great defensively but a solid rebound and a muscle man who would do decent. Al Jefferson is a less polished LMA with not as good defence and his rebounding is decreasing.

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
