    December 26th, 2011
    7PM | Rose Garden | Portland, Oregon
    Trail Blazers (0-0) vs. 76ers (0-0)

The Trail Blazers open up the 2012 campaign at home for the third straight year, this time against the Philadelphia 76ers. The home opener on the 26th marks not only the Opening Night contest but the first of a three-game homestand. Portland finished the preseason with a win and a loss against the Jazz while the 76ers swept the Washington Wizards in their preseason outings. This matchup features a two stellar backcourts battling one another as Portland's Ray Felton and Wesley Matthews will face off against the up and coming Jrue Holiday and All-Star Andre Iguodala. While Philly has the star power in the backcourt, Portland can get off to a good start by using their size advantage inside as LaMarcus Aldridge, Gerald Wallace, and Marcus Camby should be able to control the paint. It will be interesting to see how Coach Nate rotates the guys in and out of the lineup. Is there a set rotation? If so, how deep? Or will he just play it by ear with it being such a shortened season?

After being forced by the NBA to watch both L.A. teams on Christmas day, I sure hope Portland can notch a big first win for us Blazermaniacs.

if we can make our shots it will be a win easy, but if we shoot like we did in our last Jazz game... no, lets just shoot well guys!

It really depends on what Nate does with the rotation. If we have fresh legs on the floor that are ready to run, I think we take this one no problem, especially if LA can have a good game and everyone else gives what we expect out of them. I really can't wait to see what Gerald and Batum do when they're getting serious on the court. They've been playing around so far and still put together some highlight plays and decent numbers.

I did like D-Rose sticking it to the Lakers, reigning MVP for sure!

Just play up-tempo, fast defense.  Portlands got a game on Tuesday, and then a day off on Wednesday, before going back to work on Thursday.  I believe all games are at home, against winnable teams.  No real excuse to not play with a ton of energy and a drive to win.  I expect them to be 3-0 by Thursday night.  Start with the defense, and fight in the paint.  Don't underestimate your opponent.

Good first game.  Everyone looked a bit off kilter and rusty but we kept pulling it together to make for a fun watch.  It's going to be very interesting to watch our new team grow and see who, besides LA, can bring it for us and hopefully see our bench become better.

I wanted to vote for LA, Wallace, and Crawford. LA and Wallace were great and Crawford came up big when they needed to hit a shot. All around good effort from the team. They looked in mid-season form!

Aldridge was the player of 3/4 of the game, before he got tired :) Picked GW, cuz he's a straight maniac who just loves to play hard. He's everywhere and does everything. No way Portland wins this game without his hustle :)

Looking forward to the next one!!

i'd have to say G dub, but batum is really coming on. i like that he's hitting the glass and hitting shots when they count. and aldridge was straight beast with 3steals and 3blocks and 3 assists to go with his typical all star scoring, too bad he'll be beat out this year by griffon, duncan, and love.  i mean he'll have better game but wont get votes. did you see ESPNs game recap last night? showed 3 threes by williams, said blazers have a new look without roy, then said 6ers can do some damage in the east. dont bother showing camby's lobs to aldridge or anything. wouldn't want people outside of portland voting him into allstar.
