This guy is gonna be really good. Hopefully he doesnt get buried on the bench and gets no p.t. He is long..athletic.. can jump out of the gym..can shoot with range..and left handed is always a bonus..

unfortunately stacked behind some skilled guys. however, as far as backup point guard goes, i believe this is the biggest race in portland this pre-season. three guys that i can see could take the spot (smith johnson and williams). With the short preseason, id say johnson has the leg up at least for the early season since he played on the team last year.

EW showed off some siiiick athleticism at the fanfest, and like Austin said it's a lil unfortunate for Elliot cuz we've got a number of qualified pg's. But I gotta disagree with what you said about it being a 3 horse race though dude. Armon Johnson may have a year more of NBA experience then Smith or Williams, but Smith was a BEAST in NCAA and Willliams, like we're all starting to see, has got the drive to do big things. What has Armon Johnson done in his year of experience? He gave away lots of turnovers, couldn't make decisions when on the floor, and eventually he kinda lost his backup-PG spot to our favorite Aussie, Patty Mills.
Smith is the obvious backup PG right now, and I hope Elliot can do somethin to earn some minutes somewhere (i believe he's one of our guys that is pretty flexible and can play different positions), but really, unless Armon makes some serious improvements to his game and QUICK, he's really not much use to the Blazers right now.

If we're talking a 2 playing point, I'd rather see Crawford handling and E-Will playing off the ball. He's perfect for the 2-guard position but a little to flashy and scorer-minded to play point. I really like what Nolan Smith does at point guard. And they play off each other well.

And Johnson's poise is suspect. He's fourth at best,if he doesnt end up in the D-League.

AJ is all talk. He has all the confidence in the world until he's playing NBA basketball. Also, it doesn't look like he worked on his right hand AT ALL in the off season. He still goes left 100% of he time and can't drive against a defender. I don't think he has a future in the league. Nolan, however, is gonna be a solid point consistently from what I can tell.

Rip a cap hold is a number given to free agents. Basically the cap hold is added to the teams salaries at the start of free agency. So for example a team has 10 million in cap space but has 15 million in cap holds they are technically over the sal...

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

As long as he stops pulling the ball down in the post I will be happy nothing more annoying than watching that happen several times a game
