This year we'll be paying Camby almost $11M.  His production is slowing and he's probably going to retire next year.  How bout we use the money gained from it for the MLE on a good PF/C like Carl Landry or somebody that will produce better while also losing $6M on our cap space

He is retiring next year, use him this year to teach Greg Oden the game.

you've got to be kidding. the guy has one year left on his contract, and thanks to the new cba expiring contracts will become valuable again. why throw away 11 mil? i think camby could be traded late in the season to a team in need of cap room.

Total waste of the amnesty. Since it can only be applied to current players on the roster, I think Roy is the only logical person to amnesty. If they don't use it this year (which they shouldn't because it's too minimal of a benefit), they might have a better reason to use it next season (based on free agency etc.)

It really never makes sense to amnesty a player with one or two years left on their deal. You might as well waive them at the point.

    Ummm, NO

See here, it's called NBA Basketball. You go up there to shoot a layup, and a handfull of big, near 7 foot tall dudes are all lickin' their chops for that shot to get airborne...PLAP! Take that! as you watch the ball sail towards unsuspecting fans 8 rows up (Watch the beverages). Repeat this process again and again if necessary. That is why you must have a CENTER on your NBA team. So you aren't the only guy getting packed on the court.

Keep Camby unless we trade him. His contract comes off the books next year and with Roy retiring we will be way under the cap and able to sign a great player. We will also be able to sign and trade Batum, Who is a valuable piece to many teams in a trade.

You really think we'll be trading Nic now that we don't have Brandon? Who will check the Kobes and Ginoblis that we have to beat to get a good Playoff standing?

i think #3 could do that. i wouldn't consider any player untouchable except lamarcus. but if they were to trade nic they better get a highly valuable piece in return. just gotta see how this year plays out first

A Camby trade close to the deadline makes perfect sense for us. Hopefully (all fingers/toes crossed) Oden may be game-ready by then.  If he's healthy, Camby becomes largely obsolete, and we could send him to a team needing veteran defense or cap room and get a younger player at whatever position we find needs help come playoff time.

We know exactly what JJ defense at the 4 is and it is just as bad as the 5 you act like he has been playing center his whole career.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
