    Who should advance?
    #1 Clyde Drexler (16)
     70%
    #1 Maurice Lucas (7)
     30%

    FINAL FOUR
#1 Clyde Drexler vs. #1 Maurice Lucas

    No. 22 Clyde Drexler | Shooting Guard | 6-7 | 222 lbs

    Career Stats As A Trail Blazer: 34.1 mpg, 20.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.7 apg, 2.1 spg, 1.46 bpg .478 FG %, .303 3 PT %, .789 FT %

“Sometimes when I look in the mirror, I see Clyde Drexler.” Michael Jordan on Drexler, taken from BlazerMania.

When the greatest player to ever lace ‘em up is saying he sees you when he looks at himself in the mirror, you know you’re one of the best there’s ever been. While Clyde was second to Jordan during his illustrious career, he is second to none when it comes to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Glide is the franchise leader in points (18,040), rebounds (5,339), steals (1,795), second in assists (4,101), and sixth in blocked shots (594). When it comes to the postseason, Drexler’s statistical stronghold on the record books is just as tight, leading in every statistical category but two (3 PT shooting, Blocks). His eight All-Star appearances are double the next closest competitor (Wicks, Sidney) and he’s been named a member of the All-NBA team four times -- twice as many as any other Trail Blazer. However, there is one chink in Clyde’s armor.  Although he led the Trail Blazers to two Finals appearances in a span of three seasons, Drexler was unable to deliver a championship to Portland. So it all comes down to what you, the fans, value more. A ring or the greatest all-around career Rip City has ever seen.

    Schonely Speaks:
"THE best. Could do it all. He was outstanding in all phases of the game. An NBA all-star."

    No. 20 Maurice Lucas | Power Forward | 6-9 | 215

    Career Stats As A Trail Blazer: 29.7 mpg, 15.6 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 2.5 apg, 0.81 spg, 0.72 bpg, .461 FG %, .125 3 PT %, .763 FT %

    Written By Aaron Grossman
Maurice Lucas wouldn’t win this competition on paper, although he would, and has, done very well thanks to three NBA All-Star appearances, an All-NBA Team nomination and two NBA All-Defensive Team nods. But the Trail Blazers are who they are based largely on the performance of one team, one time – and that team was led by Lucas. Led by Lucas in scoring, yes, if that’s how you’re making your vote. But also led by Lucas in heart, hustle and will. Players like Lucas are why it’s called the Most Valuable Player Award, not the Most Outstanding Player. Just six months after Portland’s 1975-76 squad wrapped up a 37-win, playoff-less season without Lucas, the Enforcer and his team played the first game of what became one of the most magical seasons in NBA history and changed the franchise forever. A vote for Maurice Lucas is a vote for Portland’s MVP.

    Schonely Speaks:
"The Enforcer. You never wanted to mess with him. Powerful. And could do it all. I miss him to this day."

The polls will stay open for one week. The player with the most votes will move onto the next round. Who should advance in this matchup and why?

Clyde is the most fantastic basketball player to wear a Blazer uniform. Drexler conquered most all that stood before him. But while winning many battles, you need good command to win the war. That's why Lucas gets my vote. Maurice Lucas was Portland's leader and a true World Champion.

Definitely Drexler. I personally think Drexler's team ran into much tougher competition during their title chases than the 1977 one did, which is why I don't fault him for not bringing a title back to the Rose City. I mean, in any other year that 1992 team wins it all, but there was some guy named Jordan who stood in the way of us and so many other legends (Barkley, Stockton, Malone).

Congrats to the Glide for the Final Four victory. Mo put up a valiant effort but in the end, Drexler pulled away, advancing to the finals!

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Earlier in the combine prodcast they showed Shazamm''s shooting from the 3 pt distance.  He was 50% from the corners and 20% from the other three directions out front.  Reminds me a lot of Steve Blake''s shooting touch.  When driving h...

Barnes would not fit in Portland. His attitude is completely wrong. Sanders has anger problems, but is not an bad guy. Barnes is dirty. Tony Allen already has an excellent core in Memphis. Z-Bo, Gasol, and Conley. He has finally found a team which...

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
