    So, who is fed up with the current negotiations?  I know I am for sure.  Really do players and owners need to make more than what they already make.  Instead of agreeing on revenue split of 50-50, what about 40-40.  Use the other 20% to reduce the cost of what we are paying for tickets.  I don't see either side fighting for the FAN.  Its all about them..  I know that as soon as I am able I will cancell my season tickets and find a better way to spend that money.

    Both sides of the lockout are wrong... the players are asking for a bigger cut? When they're making MILLIONS while fans are losing their jobs? Go f*** yourselves. And the owners complain that too many of the teams are losing money? That's YOUR PROBLEM. If you can't run a multi-million dollar business efficiently, you have no one to blame but yourself and the people you put in charge. AND DAVID STERN CAN GO TO HELL.

    Apologies for the outburst, but this is ridiculous. They all need to grow up and realize the fantasy they've been living in wasn't going to last forever. Take your reality check, tighten your belt and get back to work.

    Both sides are alienating the fans. That they would rather bicker over money than to appease the fans shows their character. What happened to the time when it was about the game, about the fans? These players and owners are greedy and selfish. There are people who rely on them for work, people who unlike themselves actually work. Sign on the dotted line, and  get it over with, because this is getting rediculous.

    I agree give back to the fans who go to the games, not just season ticket holders who obviously have money to burn, but to the regular fan who watches on TV and listens on the radio and scrapes together enough money for 2 nosebleed seats for them and their kid.

    @diaz09: i like the principle of your idea. i would expand that to making live streaming of game free, especially to those of us going to college outside of our team's local broadcast area. i wholeheartedly agree with the statement that neither side is fighting for the fan.

    @blazer247: the players have already offered to five up 4 percent of the split; the league/owners want 3 more percent. from all i've heard and read, which i believe is quite a bit, the players are the ones making the biggest concessions. at this point, myself and several others feel that the nba is grossly mismanaged. so what do you do when your business is failing? you fire the head of the business. in this case, that's David Stern. he is the architect of this mess the league is in. it's past time for him to go.

    Exactly. Completely agree with your solution, Kassandra. If a business is failing or corrupt (or both), you get rid of the head. David Stern has been at the root of the problems in the NBA as long as I can remember. Funny thing, how every time I've heard anyone talking about the lockout, they always come up with the same solution in the end :) I just hope we can actually make that happen somehow and sometime soon.

    All I'm trying to say about the players and the owners is, like you said, it seems like it's about a small percentage of what they're each already getting, and now we're missing part of the season because of it? From what I heard earlier today, the players were originally asking for 57% of the BRI (basketball related income for anyone who didn't get that, including jersey sales, commercials, etc) and turned down Stern's offer of 50/50 split, now say they won't go below 53%, and the owners are apparently firing back saying now they won't give players more than 43% or something around there... So it's bad enough that both sides are simply unwilling to compromise and are now bickering like children, but when you look at the amount of the difference they're fighting over (David Aldridge says it's about $120 million, that's probably the 50%-53% range), it's hardly anything compared to what they're both already getting. And still more than most of us fans will ever see... PLUS if we miss just one month of the regular season (only 2 more weeks than what we are already missing), espn.com is saying both owners and players stand to lose up to $200 million. So just one month in and they'll be arguing over less then their losses.

    Why is this still in limbo? If I had to choose a side, like you said I think that the players have conceded more than the owners, AND the owners are more at fault then the players, but both sides are being petty and greedy, at least to a certain point. Really though, nothing that either side has given up or lost is anywhere near as bad for them as what the fans are losing by not having games, or the low-level employees are losing by not having jobs at the stadiums and all the other businesses that thrive on the basketball season. Yes I'm on the side of the players, but sooner or later I think even they need to draw a line and be the bigger man, so to speak. Any way you cut it, getting millions of dollars a year to own/play on a professional sports team is a pretty damn sweet deal! Better than any deal available for us normal people, so suck it up and gives us back our game lol.

    the players have dropped from 57% to 53% a 4% diff where the owners haven't then they want them to drop even more? the players are in the right.

    What's the big deal with 50/50? Someone enlighten me. Do the players not make enough. I support them 100% but look at what Clyde and Jordan made 12-15 years ago. They played no guts, no glory.

    @Bull Frog: what's the big deal with 53-47? it's more than half of what the owners are seeking. isn't that a part of compromise -- meeting half way? players have done the only compromising on this, the largest issue. of course, there are several other issues at stake too, but if you want to talk about profit share, that's pretty much the story.

    @Blazer247: that's just the thing; as far as the tentative negotiations are concerned, they players have only lost and the league/owners have only gained. we also need to remember, the league/owners have absolutely nothing to complain about ... it was they who locked out the players -- not the other way around.

    guys, i tweeted this yesterday and thought i'd share my little joke, but with a poignant overtone: the major sticking point in the cba negotiations: the players want small market teams to actually have a chance to win a championship. the commissioner "Sternly" sad "NO WAY."
