What Is Your Favorite Schonely Saying?

    On this date in 1970, Bill Schonely was named the first radio voice of the Portland Trail Blazers! I thought a nice way to celebrate this anniversary would be to find out which "Schonzism" was your favorite. Was it "Bingo, Bango, Bongo"? "Lickety Brindle Up The Middle"? Or was it the classic standby, "Rip City"?

    "Mercy, Mercy..Jerome Kersey!" And the timing of the sayings were all on cue, esp after Kersey would finish home a mammoth slam on the fast break.

    You couldn't start the game until Shonz says his famous quote.."Good Evening Blazer Fans, Wherever you may be"..and closed it out with.."Goodnight Evvvvvverybody!"..as a kid would listen to most all games alone in my room..He is part of the family for sure..

    Don't have a favorite but Schonz is to broadcasting what Clyde was to gliding...there can be only one. Rip City Baby!

    Calm down rip most of his rosters lately have had a few of the same guys so that is an upgrade over he previous attempts that always contradicted each other. 


    Plus rosters are fun to make try a few.
