I know it is sad cuz he is the Natural and we all feel in love with his play for us, but we really need to move on. LA is our new #1, roy's knees are failing him, and he will not help us long term. We need to try to move him and get as much value for him while he still has something left in him. What if we could trade roy and felton for CP3 and belinelli.. I sure as hell would.. or any other player that doesn't have messed up knees.. we can't rely on him now.

We have a lot of mediocre talent right now. If we could trade a couple players in a package deal, what would you trade to get an all star or player of wallace's and LA's caliber??

roy had double knee surgery and came back in the same season!! DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THAT!!!!!!! this post season we had was him playing on "bad knees" that had surgery a few months prior. With that in mind remember that 21 point deficit that he SINGLE HANDEDLY was able to over come and win that game. once he has FULLY healed with can only happen over time probably mid next season (if their is one) he will be close to his old self. Dont forget roy has had bad knees since college so he has always played slow and on the ground which lead him to 3 ALL STAR appearances. he can still ball i dont understand why everyone who used to be die hard b-roy fans are calling it quits after this season. because LA stepped it up? because blazers still made the playoff? because matthews did good as a starter instead of roys backup? or maybe because portland traded for g dub but what ever it is you all should think what roy went  through LAST season and still had a good come back. ( also would like to add his ot forcing 3pt shot vs denver)

i'm in total agreement with BlAzErS_FaN_FoR_LiFe712 here. it's great to say, "hey, it's time to move on," but it's another thing to make an uneducated trade just becaue a few trigger-happy fans want to make a deal. number 7 definitely showed that he's still got a lot of what he previously had. after a full off-season he very well could be reliable and dependable for us again. do the naysayers even realize that at the same time he came back, he was learning an entirely different offensive scheme than what his team had before? do they realize that his role on the team had changed? back in march, Brandon told Mike Barrett that he felt his situation was more mental than physical. he's a smart guy and by no means is his time here finished.

now a note on trades which many seem to conveniently forget: the OTHER team has to also agree on the deal. as far as Chris Paul is concerned, he is the hornets' version of LaMarcus ... in that, he's their number one guy. in short, he's not going anywhere.

everyone has brought up good points. I was there for game 4 against the Mavs when he went off! It was amazing!! I believe he will still be very productive for the next couple years provided he plays like a 34 year old would... BUT he is 26! I know that i love watching him play, he is my favorite player in the league, and he can light it up any given night. I'm not saying do a desperation trade, but at least float the name out there for trades before we are stuck with brandon in a suit on the bench for the rest of the season. What about a trade that sends Roy and batum, for eric gordon and the ginger Kaman. They want to get rid of kaman and this way we would get bigger, and a more athletic 2 in gordon. if they wants picks or something add them in. STARTING LINE UP:: Felton, gordon, wallace, LA, oden (if healthy) .... then you have Smith, matthews, kaman, and camby! thats dirty!

Food for thought; It doesnt matter who the Blazers bring in,an injury can happen to anyone, anytime, on any team.

Im a loyal fan! I hope brandon proves me wrong and is an all star for the next 5 years.. but realistically.. He is not brandon of late!! Even though i love his old play, i love the blazers more. If that means parting ways with a permanently broken down player we have to! Just like if Oden doesn't perform this year and proves the injuries are behind him we need to get rid of him. I know anyone can get injuries, but why stay attached to players that are already broken! I know this topic is looking like hate, but look at it realistically! these players are not going to get new knees!

so how long before you want to trade g dub? he is one of the most injury prone players in the NBA and everyone loves him here in portland. i dont understand why people put roy in the past when he is very well in the present and future. i cant wait for him to shut all of you up and you all start to say "ooo he is so good, all star for sure, i never doubted him for a sec, he will lead us to a championship soon" etc

I still have the faith in B Roy! I could see he still had his game in him.  You could tell just by watching him play that it was all in his head.  He wasnt sure of how hard he could push his knees.  But when you see him forget about thinking, and just playing, he would make a vintage roy move and score.  But other times you could tell he was thinking too much and would not push off his legs as hard for that explosive first step to the hoop or that step back jumper.  Confidence is a huge part of why he was such a good player.  He is lacking the confidence he once had.  But as fans, we can help him get it back by just believing in him.  If you want to see B Roy of old, all you have to do is believe he can still be the same player he always was.  I am a fan of Brandon Roy finishing his career with the team he took to the next level, no matter how his next few seasons turn out.

Sports are not about loyalty, it is about winning. Roy's knees are shot, he can still play but not consistently at the level he is being compensated for. So yes, we need to package him for someone who can help us win consistently, Like Dwight Howard or CP3.

when ever roy makes those moves now u can see his face afterwards, it is scrunched up and in pain cuz when he's playing thats adrenalin allowing him to it. continued play is killing his legs even more. His knee caps are GONE! All the faith and believing in him will only force him to want to please you all more. If he continues playing like this by the time he is 35-40 i wouldn't be surprised if he was some what crippled. Ya his career is done by then but his life isn't. Package him up with someone, he can play a couple more years and then retire. We need to trade while we still get something + from it in the long run.. Why wait until he has to retire with us in a couple years

OK! THINK! For those that are weak at best, stop and think! Can the man shoot the rock?  He may not be able to drive to the hoop but he can shoot the rock!  He will develope and be the same threat as always.  He can catch and shoot, come off screens,  sit on the three line, and most of all be someone the other teams has to respect from the outside.  AS it is right now we he's all we got from the outside.   It will be up to Felton to get the ball to himin the right spots.

Felton will need to see the floor so he can get the ball to the shooters in their sweet spots!

B Roy has no cartilage in his knees CP3 had a knee surgery this is a huge difference. CP3 can recover and heal, Roy cannot grow new cartilage in both knees.

@Civilhold,thats the bottom line. The Man can flat out shoot the rock. Someone wrote sports was not about loyalty. Everything is about loyalty. Try bringing in a good player, when you've shown the whole NBA that your word means nothing. [see Kevin Pritchard] I have faith in you B-Roy.

Can the man shoot the rock?

I agreed with this stat until i looked it up... stat wise.. there are a 110 players in the league that shoot better from behind the 3pt line than roy. 3 of them are Batum, Matthews and felton. He actually tied % wise with G wallace!! AND all 4 of them shot at LEAST twice as many as roy.. granted roy only played 47 games.. but still. now if you go inside the arc, FG wise.. he is at .400.. there are at least 116 players that have a better shooting% from in there.... and OVERALL when i combined both together, (cuz a lot of the 3pt leaders don't get high FG% and vice versa i cut them out) He is still 49th in league averaging 12.2+ points per game.. And wallace, batum, Matthews, AND FELTON! all did better them him last year.... Now roy can take over a game if he has enough adrenalin pumping and he has the D pegged.. BUT apparently overall, scoring wise.. he is not the best on our team.. we can trade him

Compelling argument, stat wise. However,None of the aforementioned have taken over a game the likes of which Roy has. Im talking clutch shooter. Dropping daggers. When the ball leaves Roys hands,i've never thought to myself that it wasnt going to be, " nothing but net".I cant say that about anyone else on the squad. Oh to be sure many have been on fire, but which of them, all with healthy knees, has commanded respect from opposing squads like Roy.

true.. i have seen him be clutch numerous times, but he has been the only one we let have it with time winding down. So far it has been pretty good results in the clutch. We haven't seen what wallace, new LA, Matthews, felton and batum can do on a regular basis in the clutch. We have plenty of options for that situtation. Lets not be so closed off to trading him.. He can be benefitial to a team in the east and we can get something good for him.

why would another team give up their star for a player with no knees? i dont see orlando giving up d12 for next to nothing. an injured b-roy and a handful of no names? u think anybody else in the nba even knows babbitt or armon or mills? they dont. and the cp3 thing again? you do realize he has bad knees too right? brandon roy is worth more to the blazers than any other team, besides, who's going to take on his max contract? why would they? to dump another bad contract? you people make no sense

Your photo matches how retarded you are! CP3 had a knee surgery.. that is different than roy.. Roy has had so many there is no more cartilage in his knee.. BIG difference. CP3 has recovered. I did not say once, package him JUST with our 3rd string crappy players on our team for an all star like Dwight. I personally don't think we have a shot at him but we might with other good players in the league. You need to make it worth it to another team by adding in camby or batum so they take the contract. once again someone who didnt take in the fact that THOSE ARE STATS FROM THE SAME YEAR THAT HE HAD DOUBLE KNEE SURGERY!!!!!!!!!! for a guy who played in the condition he was in id say those are great stats and the other 48 guys who are in front of him probably wouldnt have done so good under those circumstances

Brandon has cartilage; no meniscus. BIG difference. UnHoly is correct in that no team is going to match the trade requirements for Brandon. the interest just isn't there. we fans can make any bold, unqualified declarations we want. the bottom line is that, at this point, a trade is just not gonna happen. diablo, you have no valid point, which is deliberately proven by your need for personal insults. that's just a sad attempt to make a moot point.

Kassandra... I really don't need to insult, your right. The point I do have that is VALID is, Roy is broken down. If we don't get any value for him through a trade now, what are we suppose to do? Use him until he is crippled and say; thanks, now retire? I don't see him lasting too many more years.

What proof do you have that he is broken down?  After surgery, he had 2 months to show that he was still the superstar.  No one is going to wow the crowd and take over games that soon after coming back.  But he DID.  That come back was vintage Roy.  You can't leave that game out of the equation.  He was shooting elbow jumpers, 3s, and using his first step on opponents.  You can't do that against the Dallas guards if you don't have anything left in the tank. It takes time to get back into the swing of things.  He needs time to work out and get familiar with the NBA game again.
