The NBA will be releasing the 2011-12 schedule tomorrow morning. Recently, the Trail Blazers have been a staple in the Western Conference playoffs, making the postseason for three consecutive seasons. With that comes a little bit of revenge. After being dispatched by Houston in the '09 playoffs, Portland was awarded another chance to settle the score at the beginning of the following season, opening up with the Rockets in the Rose Garden. Next year, same story. Portland fell to Phoenix in the '10 playoffs, but played the Suns opening night in Rip City. Will the NBA make it a trifecta, putting the Mavericks against the Blazers? Dallas did say that Portland gave them their biggest challenge of the 2011 playoffs. With that said, who would you like to see the Trail Blazers battle on opening night?

    Dallas Mavericks
A chance to get some revenge after last year's difficult playoff loss in six games. Also, it keeps the trend of playing last year's playoff opponent on Opening Night alive.

    Denver Nuggets
Not only are the Nuggets a team inside of our division, but Denver had a similar record and finished one spot higher in the standings. Also, the two teams compelted a draft day trade, which would be intriguing to see how the two teams fare with their new pieces to the puzzle.

    Los Angeles Lakers
Our biggest rival, bottom line. Would there be a better or bigger way to kick off the season than a showdown with the Lake Show? I don't think so.

    Minnesota Timberwolves
The Trail Blazers have won 20 consecutive games against the Wolves. Picking up win #21 in a row over Minnesota would be a great way to kick off the 2011-12 campaign.

    Oklahoma City Thunder
Another inner division team and a matchup that would surely produce an eventful game, likely going down to the wire. In the four games played over the course the 2010-11 season, only 19 points separated winner from loser, meaning the average margain of victory was a mere 4.75 points.

    Utah Jazz
Regardless of whether they made the playoffs or not last season, the Utah Jazz are still one of Portland's biggest rivals.

Let's hope they start on time; the way things are going, that pint sized dictator they call David Stern would prefer to skip the entire season and keep the players locked out. Go ahead commish, find another way to ruin the league and force our best players to play overseas and let those soft European leagues to flourish.

It's always Utah, let's change it up. I say Cleveland without LeBron, we owe them a couple beat downs.

As long as the owners have their way....there won't be an opening day.  So, it really doesn't matter.  The schedule being put out tomorrow is meaningless.
I am a fan of looking forward to the future and the 2012-13 season. Bring back JJ!!

Shabazz or Saric. We need bench scoring.
