On the radio this morning,i spoke to John Lund about what we as fans could do to show our disgust with this lockout nonsense. He suggested that we could not go to the games. I thought that was a brilliant idea. It gives the fan an opportunity to flex our muscles a little bit. Where would the NBA be without those of us who cheer them on? What would the Rose Garden sound like absent our screaming ,and cheers and beers and banners? This lockout is costing a lot of people money. The people who work at the RG cant afford a lockout. ESPN,TNT,NBC,they certainly will feel the sting of the lockout. Alot of the players cant really afford a lockout, especially 1st through 3rd year players who havent stacked enough chips to go without their checks. One thing that is high on my list of dislikable things, is a bully. I dont like the NBA's  strongarm tactics. The problem with some of the owners is that they arent making any money,[as if they dont have enough],and their teams arent worth televising. They are sniveling about the fact that some teams with money are buying their talent pool. Well Duhhhh!! Thats what people with money do. However, that little formula for success didnt work for Miami now did it? Only one thing makes sense, shorten the contracts.

What games are we refusing to attend.  Since none will happen until the lockout is settled how will this approach yield a faster settlement.

I have long maintained, and have been vocal in expressing my belief that NBA players are grossly overpaid...ESPECIALLY relative to our current slumping economy.  I am therefore personally thankful for the lockout and support the direction the owners are attempting to take.  I will NOT support this game if ticket prices, concessions, and memorabilia continue to rise while the economy struggles...further distancing the socioeconomic level of the player from that of their desired fan.   THAT is NOT a sustainable business model long term moving forward.

BTW...on a related note, Lund was my fav of the three on the Game.  Those that I find myself aligning with most often also seem to be those with the shortest stints on the air.  Antonio Harvey another example.

i think that its a very bold idea, but what would more than likely happen is nothing at all.....

the thing with this lockout, which is probably going to happen once it all gets figured out, is teams are going to share revenue's. So really it wouldnt hurt because they would just borrow money from a powerhouse franchise like the los angeles lakers, because they more than likely have extra revenue.

So really you would just be receiving more of what you hate and that is anything from any other team....
It could potentially send the wrong message that says, " Hey, we are so over these rich spoiled athletes and tyrannical owners, we are so done with this. peace out" then the dude who is in charge could just be like, " Okay, great, i was wondering who i could sell this franchise to and get paid a bunch of money ( which is a portion of what you were upset about in the first place )."
and before you know it, you are sitting at home watching the season openers of the 2013 - 2014 season as the Ohklahoma City Thunder take on the Tampa Bay Trail Blazers .... eek, talk about backfired....

what would be more effective , imo, and doesnt put the franchise at risk would be to start a nationwide movement that shows utter disgust towards athletes and the franchises they play for. with an attitude that kind of says, yea we watch sports, but not because of you guys... you know. its stuff that like that gets national attention, that makes sports center, and after 2 or 3 years of headline news from an organization like that youll find change.

Or get these players more involved in charities, find a way during contract negotiations that will work out 25% or joe johnsons 120 mil/5 years to a charity of his choosing.
Or $#%$ let them work on our countries debt....something

I don't understand BDAWG!  Why put the blame on the players for what they make.  Owners do not have to overpay .  If your boss came to you and gave you a contract overpaying you WOULD YOU GIVE IT BACK!  Blame the players.  What about this being a business?  Marketing and all the other things that go into the front office must be looked at.  Why hate the players?  We all watch the games BECAUSE OF THE PLAYERS NOT OWNERS!  Man some people look at their paychecks and say I don't make what the next person make.  Do you have that persons skill set?

I am an Inspector for an airline and I help maintain a fleet of airplanes. I carry the responsibility of more peoples lives in a single day than ANY emergency room doctor in a month. I make less than $100,000 a year.
I am willing to bet Lebron or Kobe does not have MY skill set. I also know that while my company does make enough money to give me a really incredible wage I would be the only one working on this fleet of airplanes, doing payroll, cleaning the offices, flying the planes, serving the drinks, making the reservations, loading the cargo, pumping the Jet A,working the ticket counter, answering phones,AND when the day is done I get to clean the latrines. So I guess what I am saying is that even though I have a high end skill, without ALL those other people I would not have a job. These Basketball players should realize this also if your team is losing money and you are making 9 million a year and they ask you to take a cut to 7 million in order to stay afloat
and you cant do it and live on 7 million you really need to work for the government and not play basketball.
