Yes but there will be no pictures or mention of current players on the site.  It will be a skeleton of the usual site.
I am a fan of a team that never quits, no matter the injuries, a franchise that keeps on pushing towards #1 and a crazy home arena where good teams go to die.

Will I get in trouble for playing 2K11? Lol.

But seriously this is no laughing matter... unless you compare it to working conditions in Chinese sweat shops. But whatever.

I think the owners and the players are forgetting where all of their money comes from.  Us fans, buying tickets to see them play, or tuning in on TV.  Buying their jerseys and other team merchandise.  By not playing, they are losing fans.  So if the lockout lasts in to the season, they will lose alot of ticket sales, and the stereotype of professional athletes will be backed up.  That they play for the money, not the love of the game.  At my work I make the best wood pellets in the country, but you dont see me making even 100k a year.  All the employees where I work just had to take a 5% pay cut due to the economy, so the company could stay profitable.  Just saying the players are not the only ones being asked to take less money so that their company will remain profitable, which will then lead to it staying in business.  Come on! Just play ball!

Yeah, but it's not like the players are being asked to take a pay cut for any greater good. They're being locked out, not going on strike. So if you're pissed, be pissed at the owners, management... corporate fat cats... Michael Jordan, e.g.? The players are going to lose money no matter what. So try not to kick the boys while their down, Skater.

Seems to me that its the GREEDY OWNERS who are in control. The Players haven't walked out, or gone on strike. The Owners have gone on the offense and locked the players out. Take a look at the dozen yachts that Paul Allen owns and see if he or any other owner could justify locking out the players. Why not simply negotiate a decent contract and get on with business. Sure we pay for these stadiums, inflated consessions and big tax breaks. It's comical how fast we can attack the players when most of them don't even last 5 years in the NBA.

due to greed on both parties, many could possibly lose their jobs this up coming season and those people dont have billions and millions to rely on. the real losers are not just the "fans". the players and owners have gotten to big for their own good.

The owners are at fault on this whole mess!  Miss management of their teams and giving players money they can't afford to give.  If you have a budget stick to it.  So what if you can't afford a player!  The fans lose on all fronts!

Not a totally bad idea. I guess it sends the message that we won't come crawling back when they decide we're allowed to watch people play basketball again.

The only problem is that it would lose the owners even more money and would probably launch us straight into another lockout (at least when the new CBA expires).

Taking the sites down are bull...they are trying to lock the fans out too...before you know it we won't be able to post on the message boards. How disrepectful to the fans. The owners and the players need to stop being greedy and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. Whatever happened to the good ole days when it was all about the game...now its just about money. Damn GREED.

I think Paul Allen is the last man that should be blamed if there were a hierarchy of blame among owners, placing Michael Jordan at the top would be easy, he's vocal about his desire for a lockout, you could even place blame on Jerry (is that the son?) Buss for not implementing a revenue sharing program for the teams that lose money paid for by his lucrative tv contracts that the rest of the smaller markets aren't privied to, Allen may sell out the rose garden everynight but he hardly gets Laker-money from the Blazer's deal with CSN. Allen is in a small market, paying large market money, and doing it a lot smarter than say the Jazz (which is debatable with Roy I suppose but at least he's a good guy getting paid and it isn't his work ethic keeping him from producing).

The Blazer's will be fine whenever the lockout does end, probably after one and a half seasons of a lockout, but I think this lockout will last as long as it takes for either guaranteed contracts to go away or for the teams at the bottom of the food chain (bobcats and hornets?) to close up shop and give up their players in some sort of supplemental draft, giving us the possibility of a special lottery where the coveted pick could be to obtain chris paul or some other superstar who's team isn't making enough money to pay him?

Portlander's will support any local team, let's use this void to bring in another major market team (please no baseball), football is out of the question, soccer is going to be nice to have, but what about hockey or something else?

What about international sports? Why doesn't someone with deep pockets bring them over to the states, if not in person then at least on tv, maybe watch Joel Freeland or any other prospects without NBA contracts, even if delayed broadcasts, show on CSN or some other channel? There has to be something better than wild life with whoever or Adrenaline farmer to watch on CSN. I wish this were the summer of the olympics, because if so it wouldn't matter one bit that there is a lockout.

Paul Allen is the co-founder of Microsoft. He has big market money and has a lot of corporate greed in his background. So... quit being such a suck-up Blazers fan. It's evil when everyone else does it, but we're a city of saints?

BURNT NUGGETS!! C'mon man, "ohhh, I don't get enough millions".

Gimme a break, we all play basketball for free. Because it's an awesome sport. Stuff like this, owners threatening to cancel the season cuz players make to much bread? It's like... no @#%# Sherlock!!

So I guess once a criminal, always a criminal works too?  I highly doubt Paul Allen is concerned about money when he's been diagnosed with cancer and has spent millions on this team that has yet to hand him a championship.  I doubt a handful of owners care about the CBA and wouldn't mind the players winning.  Another that comes to mind is Marc Cuban.  He just received an NBA championship, you think he'd also want to back it up with a lockout?
