    http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/105331-report-celtics-shopping-allen-rondo

That's a link to the SI.com T&R article about the Celtics shopping Ray Allen. Danny Ainge said that he would potentially be willing to include Rondo for the "right" deal. I know we are guard-heavy already and don't really need Allen, but would getting Rondo be worth it? He would immediately solve all of our PG issues, Blake could move to backup, Bayless or Sergio becomes expendable, and we can move forward with a backcourt duo of Rondo and Roy. How much would we have to give up to get Rondo?

Whats hilarious is how inflated a value the Celtic fans have over Rondo. Rondo is overrated by their fans since he has such great players to pass to.

Obviously he would make a great fit on the Blazers for the same reason though. But the kid can't shoot the ball if his life depended on it.

Hes basically a Bayless version with a bit more passing and rebounding ability.

I love the posts that expect Paul or Williams for Rondo+Allen. They really don't realize how past his prime Allen is and how he is not what he used to be.

There is no way in hell Rondo is worth Paul or Williams especially since Allen will likely retire soon.

Sorry, after watching his dirty play in the Playoffs, I don't want him on my team. That alien looking freak can stay in Boston with all the other chowder heads. Give me someone who I can respect as a human being, not JUST a good PG. Sorry, character still outweighs skill in my eyes

Travis + Bayless for Rondo.. I would do that in a heartbeat. Bayless has a lot of upside but rather than waiting for him to get ready (which is still not that close) we can have our young guard instantly. Add a starter for SF and a little inside depth, then wait for us in the western finals next season.

Do you guys really think Blake will be happy with being a back-up to Rondo after the season he had? No. If your going to bring in a starting PG you have to get rid of Blake due to chemistry issues. You can't just bench a guy after the season he had and then just bench him.

If we were to trade for Rondo it would be Travis+Blake+2nd round pick

Stick to Star Wars SithLord. By picking up Rondo to tear apart what this team stands for. Incase you didn't watch the Chicago-Boston Series, he's a punk. The last thing we need on this team is a punk. I don't care how talented he may be, he's a punk and we just got rid of our punks so no thank you. Why waste all this time rebuilding the reputation of this team just to throw it away on a gamble. Sorry, that would be a bad move. Maybe you all have forgotten the boycotts, and why they happened, but I sure haven't. Rondo is a cancer for a team like ours. The only thing keeping him in check in Boston is a much superior Alpha-Male in KG. If he mouthed off to KG, KG would knock him out. Nobody here would do that. They might try to ignore him, but he would get in their heads and we would end up having a terrible season. Nope, not a good fit for Portland.

Rondo is, in fact, a GREAT point guard who made a leap from his second to third year with the help of some veteran leadership. I can't believe any of you would say he's overrated after these playoffs. And RipCity (it seems we're always on different sides of things, doesn't it?) Rondo is NOT a punk. It was the PLAYOFFS, how do you expect him to play? I assume when you say he's a punk you're referring to the foul on Miller, which was nothing more than a HARD, PLAYOFF FOUL. You need to grow a set and figure out that playoff basketball is more physical than in the regular season. This team absolutely could use a little more attitude and toughness from someone other than Joel. We saw that the Rockets had it, and that was one of the reasons they beat us in the playoffs.

And all of you need to STOP thinking we could EVER get Rondo for Blake+Outlaw+2nd Round pick. That might get us a mid level first round pick with something back, but not an elite NBA point guard.

As far as Rondo goes, that foul on Miller was more than a hard foul. Any one of our boys were to do that, we're talking flagrant 3, but because it was a Celtic they didn't even call it a flagrant. That was rediculous. Then the next game he goes and shoves Kirk Heinrich into the press table for no reason. The dude is a time-bomb and I don't want him to make the Blazer uniform look bad again. I do agree that it would take more to get him than we (as fans) are willing to part with so the discussion is fairly outlandish. Remember, it's all a smokescreen for now. If they are letting the press hear it this early, there is no chance of it really happening. Yeah, we do end up on the opposite sides a lot, I guess we just see the game through different rose colored glasses.

with all do respect to everyone, i could be a good pg if i had pierce, allen and kg on the court with me. Why? Because their games are so much better it would over shadow all i do wrong, and then i can be a lil punk ass and run away with my tail between my legs. I would take hinrich before i took rondo, and i also believe basketball should adopt a hockey type rule, where if two guys wanna fight, give em 5 minutes to go at it. Crazy? Might be, but who didnt wanna see Joel take Boozer out, i mean honestly? That woulda been sweet

Yes, this is B-Roy's team, yes that is what Rondo would see, but no I don't think that would be the end of it. He would whine, he would pout, he would not be productive, he would become a media circus and be traded at midseason.

He also proved hes a punk. No he would not fit well and no he would not be worth the chance. His stats are a little misleading as others have said because of who hes teamed up with. KG, Pierce, Allen.. they can make a lot of ppl look pretty good. I mean Rondo cant shoot AT ALL... his FT% is in the 60's and i dont even wanna know his other. He makes his living throwing alley-oops to KG or driving it, thats all he does. He is an above average rebounder for a PG i will give him that. I mostly just dislike his additude and wouldnt want him infecting our team with it.

It's terrible for Blazer fans to say they wouldn't miss their players in a trade... but I wouldn't miss Outlaw either. I didn't really care for him at the beginning of the year, but completely changed my mind about him as the season went on. I don't know what happened to him when we hit the playoffs though. It doesn't matter how you played in the regular season  once you get to the playoffs. If you can't bring it in the playoffs, then it's either 'ride then pine'... or worse... Outlaw for Rondo? I say go for it. But, I heard that we're looking at Hinrich. Tomorrow should be interesting... July 1st should answer all of our questions.

that deal can go find a donkey and do naughty things to it. That's what that deal deserves.

even if you wanna argue the brad miller root canal was a "hard playoff foul", what about him going WWE on hinrich the next game and tossing him into the scorers table?! The guy is a little punk.

Also Junior, in regards to getting rid of bayless, the guy is a king. nuff said. if you need reasons, ask, I have tons.

rondo is definitely not the 'gangsta' we need. He's all talk, can't back it up, and starts fights. The real tough guys don't start fights, they just show up. Look at LeBron. does he commit flagrant fouls or throw guys into scorers tables? no.

starting fights to look tough is what immature punks do. How can he possibly be one of the attitudes you like? thats preposterous.

On top of that, he's not a proven offensive player. People say he hit jumpers. I would too if I was wide open because the defense was keying on ray allen, paul pierce and kevin garnett.

This entire notion of acquiring rondo sickens me cause they guy is a huge cry baby. just is

Okay "Junior 23." Are you for real? Judging by how you said all that, I am guessing you are a 22-24 year old white guy who bleached his hair and started wearing baggy white t-shirts and saggy denim jeans back when Eminem was popular. You probably have your powder blue Yankee hat on diagonally as you read this. Nice allusion to MJ in your name by the way because I bet you play more like Steve Erkel. I digresss.

Rondo is not "Gangsta," Rondo is a sissy. He's a cell warrior. All his hits were when the other guy wasn't looking. How tough is that? I saw that once by Carmello Anthony and everyone made a joke of him about it (rightfully so. What a wuss!) The difference between Joel, Oden and sissy mcpee his pants is that they don't START the fight. They respond to the pieces of trash like Rondo by not taking their crap. Joel and Greg are the ones that END the fight.

We all know what Rondo is. He's the little rat-like guy that gets to hang out with the gangsters because they will blame him if they get caught. You know that guy that when he isn't paying attention the real gangsters go, "he guys watch this...YO RONDO! I GOT SOMETHIN' I NEED YOU TO DO!" Just so they can sit back and let him do all the dirty work. At the end of the day though, they think to themselves, "Man! I know Rondo is the fall guy, but DANG he annoys the crap out of me! He's always pickin' fights with guys that will kick his butt and we have to protect him just so that he STAYS the fall guy. Is it worth it?" They laugh at him behind his back. That's not gangster, if you think that's gangster, than guess what, YOU'RE THE FALL GUY! If you look around your gangster buddies and only find One or Two or NO other fall guys, then it's YOU Junior. And if Junior is the name they gave you, it's because they own you, they look down on you. You are just their "go-fer,"  they made you their SON HOMEBOY! Rondo is not Gangster, he's a thorn in the rearend of every teammate he has ever had and the Blazers certainly don't need him.

rondo is annoying i now but hes GOOD he can drive to the hoop he can get triple doubles hes not an all star but hes a piece of the puzzle to a championship team
yea i now that his team has paul pierce and kevin garnett and ray allen but he has something they all dont have thats driving to the rim
i mean KG can dunk but hes too big to drive
Paul Pierce is an AWSOME clutch player and can shoot real good
Ray Allen is all about the three

now the blazers have brando roy great cltuch player hes an all star too buit he needs some help with driving to the basket and lamarcus is post up man not a driving guy

    look at this from rondo
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN1k1ogZ1sY

and rondo went to oak hill academy the number one high school in the NATION
did u see what rondo did in the playoffs he averaged 16.9 pts 9.70 rbd 9.8 assists
season stats 12.6 pts per game 5.9 rebounds per game 8.5 assist per game

If you want driving to the rim, Bayless does that. He needs to get better at passing the ball, but so did Rondo his first seasons of actually playing. I remember people saying how he was a scoring guard and they just didn't think he was going to make that team better. They picked up Sam Cassell and all of a sudden Rondo became a better passer/floor leader. I think it is one of those things where Bayless needs to be mentored and then practice what he had been taught. Well, he's been mentored all summer. That was their goal. Now he needs to put it into practice. He got a little during summer league, he's getting more at USA Select, then he will get even MORE at training camp, and a little more during pre-season. He will be a different guard come season beginning but you will continue to see him transform throughout the season. I see him being every bit as good as Rondo, if not better, in the long run judging by his competitive nature, work ethic, and the fact that Bayless is actually grounded.

30 teams in the nba, 5 starters a team, you're saying 150 guys in the nba are great? what is great? better than d-league?

its spelled professionally. You said to be a starter you have to be great? that's insinuating that every starter in the NBA is great.

But following your logic, 150 divided by 2 is 75, so you're still saying 75 players in the nba are great? seriously what is great?

Is this really worth arguing about? I mean, in order to PLAY in the NBA you have to be exceptional. In order to get playing time in the NBA you have to be sensational. In order to be one of the best five players on an NBA team you have to be a freak. Granted, GREAT impies someone being on the level of Lebron, Kobe, Wade, and Roy, but that is a matter of word usage not talent level. You can understand what the guy is saying.

I coem on at work see a discussion and have something ot say and ten right below it you comment something that would make it seem I read and reworded your comment . It a good thing because it shows there are more rational people how there. I love this team because the players we have are upstanding human beings and good ball players. If we had players pulling crap like that I would watch in disgust. I play "streetball" with no fouls so I can respect a strong player but you still get punched in the mouth for a cheap shot. This is organized basketball and part of being good is playing within the rules and still putting up numbers.

It will be tough to do though because that would require me holding my tongue to the more rediculous statements put through here, but I can try it. Starting Saturday, I will become a blog specific poster as to allow more free flowing Message Boards. The only exceptions will be if I feel the need to CREATE a NEW Message Board topic due to information I gather OR I post on my own group Blazer Chanters. All other topics will be responded to in a weekly Blog. I will pick certain Message Boards whose topics are intriguing and thought provoking, drawing intelligent/organized reposnse.
