The Portland Trail Blazers need a player like Carl Landry or David West or Roy Hibbert for their 2011 Roster. It would booster their interior defense, rebounding, post-presence, size and create and extra scoring options for the players in their starting 5 or coming off the bench. Whether or not Oden is healthy these are valuable options for the Blazers. So Paul Allen spend that money and go after these players, and quite being a pansy when it comes to aquuring talent and put the Blazers of the Rose City in gear for a future Championship. It would be great to have (Roy, Aldridge, Wallace, (Hibbert-Landy-West), Felton), Matthews, Batum, Canby, Smith, Deibler, Mills, Babbitt to go along with one or a couple of these guys. So if Oden was healthy and the Blazers had some or one of these guys. You could count on the Blazers being at or near the very top of the Pacific West Conference and being NBA Championship ready! So Paul Allen are you ready to get busy with your 5th GM since Nate McMilian starting coaching the team.

Let's trade %57 plus two future second round picks for the rights to Faried.

D.West would want to start,he is to good to be coming off the bench.

Hibbert is perfect as he could start at C and back up LA at PF.

I'd trade Camby and any other pieces that mng intend on not utilizing (or leave to deteriate on the bench).

We need an ego free Back up bruiser, that gets after boards, dives for loose balls, blocks shots, and sends physical, yet tastefully done messages to penetrators who have the audacity to think that points in the paint are free. Brandon Bass is deteriorating in Orlando i think. Milsap would be an ideal back-up to L.A.,but what would it cost us to get him ? Camby,Babbitt,Barron, the 57th pick and some cash. Throw in a few picks from next years draft for all i care, just git er done.

The Jazz need a starting shooting guard to have Alec Burks back up maybe trade Wesley back to them for Millsap and see if you can get a first rounder out of them to.

Part of the problem with pick 57 is that there's no PICK 57 to trade. There is only Ngombo, so you're not trading a draft pick, you're trading a player. Just throwing that out there... because a freshly drafted college player taken at the end of the second round has less appeal in a trade than a pick does, which could end up being any player available.

And as far as trading Wesley... I won't say that's impossible, but I don't think going for Wesley for Millsap is the right deal. That leaves us with the same uncertainties at the 2 and leaves us with a backup 4 who is really a starter and probably wouldn't be thrilled playing behind LA, especially with the kind of minutes LA puts in. Really, if we're talking about a high-level, sixth-man type of PF, he needs to be someone who's big enough to play center and/or versatile enough to play the 3. All of these thoughts apply to David West and Carl Landry as well.

this team could of walked away with Ellis and West on draft day if they played their cards right.
they say they were not shopping Ellis around when last season he an curry were the biggest problem they had as a team, them playing together.....

If they gave up Wesley Matthews and a 3rd + 4th round pick for Ellis. Nailed him.
For West Offer Babbit , a second round pick and Patty or Armon, heck or even Elliot .
Save the first round pick for a back up big, one who can play the 4 and 5 spot.

Get Camby to come off the bench and have Aldridge move to Center, West at PF, Wallce at the 3, Ellis as the SG and miller at your point.....

sounds like a championship team to me......
and really why did that not happen, or better yet, why did nothing even remotely that cool happen????

haha theres not even a such thing as a 3rd or 4th round pick in the nba.  its only a two round draft.  Also there is absolutely no way the hornets would give up west for that little, it wouldnt even work out financially either so neither of those deals are even possible.

Well, i thought Portland was a top notch team? why wouldnt west want to come, because he was unrestricted last time i checked.....

as for the two rounds, that blows me away.

ya we could try to get him via free agency i guess although its pretty unlikely.  but if he does re sign theres no way the hornets would give him up for just draft picks

Landry or Dalembert? Dalembert is from the same Carribean Island as my parents. Id love to speak Kreyol to him during the games. Plus there is a pretty decent sized Haitian Community in P-Town.

well then include Luke, isnt he supposed to be a good shooter?
NO likes to Shoot the ball.

I am just bent on the fact that david west is like aldridge, he is an ultimate power forward. he can rebound, battle in down low, create off the ball, and shoot!!!!
he can do it all, and if he were to come in and play at the 4 and have aldridge play center, i dont see how this team couldnt advance further in the playoffs....

but i guess it would seem pretty ridiculous with that starting 5.....

I wouldn't mind seeing Dalembert in black and red. He's probably at the tail end of his prime, but we could use that strength and shot-blocking presence down low. Camby just isn't quick or strong enough anymore. I don't think he blocked an important shot since January this year...

I really have a problem with Aldridge at the 5. LA can dominate a lot of 4's and play pick and roll/pop offense. Not to mention he has awesome back-to-basket game for a 4. But he can't really bang with the 5's. He couldn't really do his magic against Howard, Bynum, Chandler, Marc Gasol...

Honestly, I like a healthy Oden for our future 5. He's a banger. For an insurance policy/role center, I want someone like a young Joel again. When he had his knees he didn't miss a board or a swat. Not to mention he was intimidating as hell! Now... who's solid but not such an ego star that they can't step down to the bench when Oden comes back? I like Omer Asik, but he probably has a pretty high stock right now. Anyway, just some thoughts.

David West was NO's best scorer and they have said that they want to re-sign him, i highly doubt he would want to come off the bench but he says he wants to win now so who knows. Best bet would probably be Landry, hes already coming off the bench and I doubt they will make a big offer to both of them.
