i think Greg has more potential than people are giving him credit for. when we were witnessing him dominate 2 seasons ago, he didn't have a monster Ltrain that commanded defense next to him. how hard is it going to be to play help defense when both of the big fellas are in the game? im thinking duncan/robinson only better. once the big fella is comfortable i think the only guy that could possibly play 1 on 1 defense is D howard.

He's not getting any respect. I think he's gonna step out on the floor and earn it. A healthy Oden is going to show everyone why he was the top pick over KD when we beat OKC in the first round next year!! Perkins will go home crying after getting his a$$ handed to him by GO.

Who doesn't give him credit? Everyone knows hes a beast...The doubt isn't in his skill its in something below the waste. And no, I am not talking about his nudey pics.

i just watched some highlight vids of Greg today. He is super beast. He's got good footwork and nice jump hooks. He's great at getting deep post position.

I really hope he stays with portland.

That's exactly what I mean by no respect. It's like nobody's ever seen a player come back from injury. Greg's 23! Yeah, Shaq never really came back from his injury... guess what: he's like 900 years old! I mean, were you watching the pick-by-pick draft coverage on NBA.com? The comment for pick 21 was that we needed to find Greg's replacement. Like he was gonna retire at 24 and be some sad excuse for a 7 footer walking around with an oversize cane and begging for money on the streets.

The problem is not potential, it is value vs. outcome. Nothing is guaranteed and he is injury prone, let's hope for the best I love his game when he is playing.

There are 25 other centers in the league who are injury prone. Its the most demanding position. So much was made about picking Oden over Durant. Scoring titles are not championships. It certainly didnt help him against Dallas. Can you imagine Oden beaing healthy against Dallas? Tyson Chandler doesnt get an offensive board. He's a game changer. You cant prepare for a Beast no matter how much game film you watch.

^Chandler doesn't get an offensive board, JJ Barea doesn't coast unimpeded into the lane for a floater, the perimeter defenders can afford to play up tighter knowing GO is behind them, etc etc etc.  Game changer is right.  Oden's mere presence on the floor changes how the game is played, whether he pads the stat sheet or not.

pshhh....dominated the bench while the stairs dominated his knee.......

Bynum has a better shot at D on Howard than Greg does.

what is this the DC universe?
I think you have been reading comic books on this guy greg oden, because its just not .... real.....or really going to happen.

Tim Duncan has never missed the top 10 for mvp voting in his entire career, David Robinson's career is just littered with awards and broken records......not broken knee's...
And you just compared the " Twin Towers" to two guys; one of whom has spent more time on the bench than double what he's played, and the other is a guy who took 3,4 years in the game, preparing for his fifth in which he finally does do tremendous until the playoffs and just disappears....

Greg is like knee deep, upside down in the river styyx right now, with this team holding on to his ankle, if this cat is ever going to ball.....its just not going to be here

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
