This recent trade gives me two predictions.  Blazers plan on Eliot Williams and Greg Oden being keys to the Blazers.

With the removal of Rudy Fernandez, the shooting guard position will be filled with Wesley Mathews, Brandon Roy, and now Eliot Williams.

With the drafting of Nolan Smith over Kenneth Faried, I believe the Blazers plan on resigning Greg Oden.

Obviously, we know both have bummed knees, but both can ball.  Greg has something he wants to prove, and Eliot Williams has been in the gym (according to his tweets) nearly non-stop ever since he was able to be on a court.

So, where do we put expectations on these guys, assuming my predictions are right that these two will be Blazers next season and likely get some significant playing time.

After listening to Chad and Nate talk it kinda sounds like Roy might not be in the picture. Just by way of saying that they think Batum might get some minutes at the 2 position. I do not think Greg is a lock but the CBA is going to have a major effect at what happens in the next month or 2. It is my opinion about Roy but Nate and Chad were talking for about 20 minutes and Roy's name did not come up once in the guard rotation they were all excited about so I just read between the lines.

I can't let myself expect much out of Oden, I know he won't be playing much but I just wanna wait and see what he does with the time given provided he remains healthy. Elliot I don't know much about except for the fact he has major hops...I wonder if the knee surgery affected that at all, hope he does well for us! I really wanna know about that Targuy Ngombo dude that Dallas selected 57th overall that we had the rights to via the three team trade we had.

I think Denver trading us Miller for Felton was riding on the stipulation that Denver could pick Faried. Just a little crust off the bread, instead of swapping the picks in the trade.

What was most concerning for me was the amount of Euro-stash players that all the teams drafted. That makes me think that we might be in for a nasty owner's strike that could cripple our season. Oh wait, I can't say those things. Possible season ticket buyers might be reading.

Shabazz or Saric. We need bench scoring.

But I rather move up and get Oladipo.
