With the #21 & #51 picks in the 2011 NBA Draft the Portland Trail Blazers select Nolan Smith from Duke & Jon Diebler from Ohio State.

What do you guys think about this draft?

i think Babbitt and Armon had better start packing. Am i mistaken or do we also have Dallas' 57th pick ? Felton and Nolan are pretty good pick ups. Nolan has a great story, and Raymond is a gamer. We still need a beast to rebound and i was sick when we didnt pick Faried with the 21st and he was available.

shouldnt have had to give up hamilton in the denver trade and I dont like diebler much but Nolan Smith is raw.  Im kinda surprised we chose him since all the draft experts were saying he was probably gonna be a second round pick and everything but I think he's for sure worth that high of a pick.  Also I like what we did with this draft because we are now set at every position for a really long time except for center.  We still should trade for a younger, better scoring center to take some pressure off aldridge in the middle offensively but other than that our roster is looking good.

With Felton on the Roster, I like Nolan Smith. I think we, in one move, successfully got our PG position pretty well taken care of (given that Smith doesn't choke... knock on wood). I think Diebler has a chance to get on this roster too, what with Rudy gone and Babbit expendable. Did you guys see Diebler's workout in Portland? Excellent catch-and-shoot guy, which we need.

I think there were smart moves made, and I think Babbit, Armon, and Patty are probably starting to wonder if they'll be in some sort of deal to get more front-court depth. With the pass on Faried, I'm guessing Nate's preference in proven players is going to apply to the backup 4 as well.

I hope we trade johnson and babbit for a big.  I always liked mills because of his enthusiasm and possitive attitude when he's on the bench so I think we should keep him if we can. I wouldnt mind it too much though if we got a very good big man for those three.  And ya theres more room for diebler because of rudy getting traded but we still have elliot williams, Roy and Matthews in front of him on the depth chart at sg so I doubt he will get much playing time next year.  also just by the way since nobody has mentioned it on this site yet we also got targuy ngombo from this draft with the pick we got from dallas

pretty sure babbits going to be the back up 4 and i think he'll be fine even though all of you hate on him so much for no reason what so ever he was a rookie not all rookie make an impact there first year in fact i can think of alot of rookies that were terrible there first year that are now very good role players some are even good starters

Cransford, Chad just openly said that they were looking to trade Ngombo's rights, so he's not worth mentioning anyway.

I am wondering about the 2 guard position, especially because Nate just jumped on the idea of Batum playing at that spot. Either way, if Diebler even makes the cut, I see him playing a lot like a Peja Stojakovic for Dallas or Kyle Korver for Chicago, just a few late-game minutes to provide a deep threat. And when you need a floor full of 3-shooters, he can play SG or SF next to Wesley, Nic, and/or Brandon. He won't be the first backup, but there's a roster spot. That's all I'm trying to say.

Were trading the rights to Ngombo I believe to Minnesota, who has been drooling over him, but Buchanan is staying quite. I wonder if we will get a player for him...probably a future or some cash consinderarions.

Hey, I don't watch college so I don't care.  Glad we got Felton.  I'm a big fan of his, and since the Spurs were jerks, I'd have Felton as my second pick of players.  However, I don't see why we gave up Rudy and the 26 pick.  Dallas kinda got a steal with adding Rudy, but those idiots think that he's going to be a starter at the SG spot...

RAYMOND FELTON! watch some highlights folks! this guy is a baller and a perfect fit with the blazers. Nolan Smith can learn for a couple years. love the duke guard! smartest college player i have seen and has a great offence and amazing deffense. diebler will open up the oppossing deffense with the long ball. now we just have to make some room on the roster. i feel another trade coming...

I love the Felton deal him and Gerald back together again but Faried would been pefect he's that energy guy that we don't have and I think we will be kicking ourselfs for passing him up.

I think we have an energy guy in Gerald Wallace, Faried woulda been nice but trading for Raymond Felton with an expierenced backup in Nolan Smith solidifies our 1 spot for years and that's what i believe they were looking for in that deal. I'm really curious about the 57th dallas pick I was led to believe we had the rights to...and no we didn't get Jordan Hamilton, we gave him up along with Andre Miller for Ray Felton I now dub thee "RAYMAN"!!!
I'm very happy with the way the draft day turned out especially considering the last couple drafts we had lol..GO BLAZERS!!!!

You're right Wallace is our energy guy but whos says you can't have two right the more I think about it the more I see that this draft was to solidify the PG and we did that.

Nolan Smith is a good pick-up but not at the expense of Kenneth Faried..........STUPID MOVE...................Should have went Faried then McCamey. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

I am really excited that we got Jon Diebler. Portland shoots a lot of three point shots and we have a lot of streaky three point shooters. So on our off days, he can step up and keep the floor spread. That will leave LA and GO(please god! be healthy!) tons of room in the paint to work.

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.
