On 1080 the FAN today, Joe Freeman was on and said a couple interesting things.

    1. The five guys that Portland has their eye on for pick #21 are Kenneth Faried, Nikola Vucevic, Nolan Smith, Darius Morris, and Norris Cole.

    2. BUT he said that he thinks Portland will not pick at #21, but instead will trade the pick. He doesn't think we'll trade up in the draft, but instead trade for a veteran/young but experienced guard. (Nash, Ellis, Iguodola, Felton, B Jennings)

Is this something we should do? I'm down

im down with that. felton or jennings i think we should go after.
i feel like if we do add our first round pick in a possible trade we should try to trade someone like rudy (if not traded in the first trade) to get back in the first round to get farried. he would be a perfect fit at back up PF.

i hope this happens . Getting jennings wont happen unless we deal batum or something wich would be awsome.  Felton would be a good pickup.  If there is any way to still get faried than do so but non the less we need a back up pf for sure!

Proposed trades from Portland would most likely be #21 overall, future first round pick, Batum, Rudy, and probably cash, and MAYBE even oden for one of those star players listed

Nash is not young and in his prime anymore.  We also need to be careful we are not giving up too much to get one player.  In some of the cases above we are giving up way too much.  I would rather keep what we have in our core and see what we can get for non core players.

Nash is not young, no, but look at his number last year. In my opinion, people are extremely over their head when they say that Nash is "out of his prime and not worth trading for." Have you seen the guy play? Haha he is a huggeee upgrade (and i'm a big nash fan) We should do this!!!

andre, batum, and rudy for jennings and salmons. dont think the bucks would trade jennings without dumping one of there bad contracts. but i think if the bucks are accually shoping jennings theres no way they dont do this trade. and salmons wouldnt be that bad to get, hes a good scorer.

Yeah i'll do the bucks trade in a second, but you really think nash will retire next year? I think he's got three years left

well he might have 3 years left, but hes gana be missing alot of games because of hes age and the way he plays. and if we get him we would need a SOLID back up so i dont see how this would make sense.

Jennings is a name I've seen thrown around who would be a good piece. He's young but already has playoff experience (led the Bucks to the postseason his rookie year). He can shoot, get to the paint and set others up. Why Milwaukee is shopping him is beyond me, but he's probably my favorite realistic trade target at the moment. Plus he can grow the "Gumby" flat top in a matter of weeks!

Jennings is a misfit. Secondly,he's too small to play point on the west.

On the west coast, points take a beating. Ask Chris Paul.

Ideally, your point needs to be able to post up against smaller guards, like the Jennings'.

Between 6'2"-6'5" , 175-205lbs is what we need running our squad.

i disagree with everything you said.
ANDRE, and kid are the only players i can think of in the west who can post up, and there in the tail end of their career. derron williams can post up good, but hes in the east. post up point gaurds arnt as big in the league as they once were

They may not be as big as they once were, but neccessary for mismatches. Mark Jackson used to start posting up guys as soon as he passed the halfcourt line. Unless you have blow by speed, you had better have some back to the basket skills.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

Thanks Siccolo, not to knock on Bosh. I think if he was the number one option he would go back to being a beast. I miss making jokes about him playing for the RAPTORS. He is a great player.

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
