Celtics have expressed interest in Greg Oden, and have some young assets in return. Names like Jeff Green and Glen Davis have been going around, but would Boston be open to trade Rondo? What are your thoughts?

Boston would never trade Rondo and he's the only Celtic that is worth G.O.

I agree. Rondo's the only Celtic worth trading Oden. A healthy Oden has the same presence and intangible impact on the game that a Kendrick Perkins has. Boston made a bad move in trading him, and now I can imagine they want that x-factor back. I wouldn't mind having a Davis or Green on our team, but I'd rather that came from deal including Babbit and maybe Batum.

I would probably do: Andre, Oden, Batum for Rondo, Green. Rajon WOULD get portland to the finals without a doubt and he isnt selfish about scoring at all. But i dont think Boston would give up the future of their franchise in all honesty unless it was a proven center like Dwight Howard.

boston iant going to give up Rondo, thats just silly now.
but glenn davis and jeff green for oden sounds like it would hurt this team more than benifit.
Davis ..... i dont even know where to begin in expressing how stupid a human being he is, let alone how WHACK! of a player he is....

Green just got traded, and now is being offered up again....so now lets totally be that guy who just before the shaking hands on a deal, says : "whats the catch...."

You really think just Rondo would get this team to the finals?  because i think you could just be trippen ..... A LOT!!!!!

its funny because so often the word is " its nolt just about one guy on a team" yet....it so is, thats is the case everywhere.....

No trade, but get Greg outta here.

i would say trade oden while he has any value, he doesnt want to be here so do him a favor. g.o. owes portland nothing. no hard feelings but its just not working out. i'd do oden for rondo in a second, but i seriously doubt boston would do it

Why would you agree with ripcity4life025 if he's saying the complete opposite of you?  And wrong, Greg Oden DOES want to remain in Portland.  He's said that numerous times.  And I disagree, I feel he kind of owes us.  He'd look worse than LeBron James almost if he went to another team, stayed healthy, won multiple championships, and multiple MvPs.  People, instead of saying "whyd you pick him over KD?  Haha Portland is dumb",  they'd be saying "Whyd you trade/let go of GO?  Haha Portland is dumb".   The KID that's 22 or 23 years old is full of potential.  I'm not ready to throw out someone that could potentially play for another 15 years that was dominate in Ohio and showed in 2009 that he's more than capable of playing and playing well.

    Herr, he meant himself. :)

I wouldn't do it. Rondo's a dirty player, and we don't need that sort of thing on our roster. If it was for someone like Jeff Green, I'd be more interested though. If we can't sign and trade Oden, it might be best to not extend the qualifying offer and then try and outbid if it's a low-ball offer from another team when he's unrestricted.

I wouldn't trade Greg for no one on their team!  We need the big man!  How quick we forget how we got taken inside.  We didn't have anyone these teams feared inside.  Greg will put fear and second thoughts back in the minds of those wanting to come down the middle!

we need a center; not a pf, and Davis is not a center (not matter how many games he filled in). no deal. the last thing we need is another wing player, so Green does us no good. Rondo? intriguing, but again, we need a center. we bring back Greg and move forward from there.

Herr is completely correct: Greg wants to stay in portland. so much so, it wouldn't surprise me if he were to jump at a qualifying offer if one were to be made. not only does he kind of owe us, i think he feels he kind of owes us.

    no deal.

agree 100% with HERR.  Greg is still only 22 or 23 and can still be a 18 point 12 rebounds and 2 block a game type player in the future.  Life handed the kid lemons, he just has to take them and squirt them in the publics eyes next year!

At this point a healthy Oden is going to help us (fans and players/coaches alike) more than it's going to hinder us to gamble on him one more time, if he gets injured again we will all be somewhat prepared for it by now, but if he can stay on the court for a majority of the year, it's going to make everyone, players and fans alike, relaly excited about this team.
Best thing that ever happened to Oden was when Walton reached out to him after his last injury and gave him a wakeup call, reminding him he can do other things besides basketball and still do well in life, but he seems to be heading in the other direction and putting himself in the right frame of mind to redeem his own career. The hurdles he's had to overcome mentally can only make him a stronger person down the road if he can gain a little confidence. He has a chance to have people whisper him with the likeness of Bill Walton (or maybe even Grant Hill), instead of Sam Bowie, not just in Portland but all around the league.
I'll always root for Oden though.

Dwight howard cant do anything though thats why he got out of the first round to the hawks!!! he is tall but not good he has like 20 good games a year we cant have that we need him to have 82 good games a season and rondo will do that not howard

we need some one like rondo that WILL take us to the finals oden is week and young and he is stupid. He is not very smart when it comes to double teams and he fouls out hella easy so we need to trade him off

All that I can say about Oden, is remember Sam Bowie, LaRue Martin and Bill Walton. He needs to go so Portland can get some value for him,

No no... I think Oden could totally be another Walton: injury prone, but still won two championships, was an All-Star, and led the league in both blocked shots and rebounds in a single season. I would love for Oden to be that guy for Portland.

Blazer Maniac, maybe you're confusing Bill with his useless joke of a son, Luke.

This is a bad trade into mediocrity. We have Oden who is without a doubt a flip of the coin on what he will be. We have Marcus Camby who without a doubt is old and he says if he gets traded he will retire. We also have Chris Johnson who showed us he can play without losing the game for us BUT also showed us he can maybe develope into something much more.....Maybe. Glen Davis is as good as he is going to get and on our team that will be about 10 minutes a game, less if Chris Johnson developes. I know nothing about Green so he must be not very good otherwise he would not be considered in the trade.

did you just call someone stupid after misspelling "weak"???????
i am almost positive you cannot get away with that, not even on a dumb, young guy like Greg Oden.

I dont know if you know this but during the three seasons that took place between 2007 - 2009, that Magic team led the NBA in almost every stat column except turnovers. so thats 3pts, pts per game, assists, rebounds, blocks......
Dwight howard and his team last year or the year before not only swept the Hawks, but they swept another team in the second round.

thats 2 teams in 8 games......

Rondo plays super fast, and this team does not! i dont see how trading for him is going to help, besides he cannot make a jump shot to save his life so in essence its already the same type of player in Andre Miller, a great facilitator, but dont let him shoot.....

the only person boston has that i am interested in for this team .... would be Jermain o Neal, and he isnt even that great....
