Greg Oden not only has physical problems, he also has mental problems.

Greg Oden has undergone mental counseling, might not return to action until January

oh man, kwame brown eat your heart out.

i feel bad for greg. to hear that he is having mental issue's thats a bummer.  studies have shown that a negative mindset is a horrible step in the direction of other health issues.
kind of like the hysterical pregnancy.
    i hope he's not preggers.....

Everyone in this world, especially those of us in this depraved culture could use and benefit from some "mental counseling" .
Good for Greg, if he has the guts and motivation to tackle some of the "mental problems" he faces, then hes doing a lot
better than any piss ant blogger who would criticize someone who seeks out better solutions. Anybody who thinks they
don't have mental problems is either delusional or to stupid to detect the problems we all face. GOOD FOR YOU GREG!

Nothing wrong with seeing a counselor to work out issues a young man feels he is suppose to know how to deal with, even through as unique of a situation as Oden is going through, so counseling can only help ensure he builds a strong foundation mentally as well as physically this time around.
The guy feels like he's had to walk a tight rope for multiple years, and he feels like he's always a breath away from losing his balance and falling on his face again in front of everyone. To condemn him for this is juvenile and wrong, if I could afford it I would seek out a counselor to deal with numerous issues we come across in today's society that generations before us have never had to deal with. We live in a fast moving society, and it's not slowing down (if anything it's speeding up), we want instant gratification on everything, and it makes it so we aren't primed to deal with long-term difficulties in life, if it can't be fixed with a pill or something simple we don't how to deal with adversity.

    please speak for yourself.
i think a guy who is almost positive that everyone in the world has mental issues.....might have one of his own...

but i believe you are getting it confused.
Greg isnt like confused about his sex or why daddy never came home, no no no. its more of confidence issues that he is going through, similar to where a lot of people thought Brandon Roy would be after the knee injuries.....
Greg has to look at his NBA career, its a flop. He was coming into the league bigger than blake griffins footlong. But instead he was more like a sample that you get at Costco, it tasted and smelled great and while eating it, it even tastes like a champion but it just didnt last long enough.

And personally i am a guy who doesnt believe in mental restraints, i think the mind is more powerful than the body, but it can also be twice as lethal. i feel bad for the guy but at the same time, minus the physical pain, there is no reason this fool should not feel or look like Bill Russel......

I think this article is blown WAY out of proportion. His doctor probably urged him to see a psychologist even though he was mentally all there. Honestly, I don't think Gregs psyche is a problem...

I think most teenagers know a little bit about wrist injuries, and if you want to use, a little pain is not going to stop you. I understand he was using it on a constant basis, but it was not 24/7, he was not doing knuckle pushups (Shout out, Kevi...

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
