    Via ESPN-
"The irony to me is that LeBron is not Michael. LeBron is actually Scottie," former Bull and current television analyst Steve Kerr said Monday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "He's so similar to Scottie in that defensively he was just a monster, could guard anybody, really more of a point forward than scoring guard. Scottie always loved to distribute the ball. That's really where LeBron's preference is.
"Phil Jackson used to call Scottie a 'sometimes shooter.' Sometimes they would go in, sometimes they wouldn't. That's how it is with LeBron. He's a great talent and a great player but you can see his flaws as a basketball player. He doesn't have an offensive game that he can rely on: no low-post game, no mid-range jump shot so when the game really gets tough he has a hard time finding easy baskets and getting himself going. That's what Michael did in his sleep so that's why the comparison is wrong."

In my opinion, calling LeBron Scottie is a disservice to Pip who performed brilliantly in all of the playoffs during those great Bull runs and even later on in his career with us here in Portland.

Interesting to see some different perspectives from two former teammates of Jordan.

I just don't like comparisons. There won't be another Jordan, or another Pippen, or another Bryant, Chamberlain, Shaq, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Dr. J, or even another Patty Mills for that matter! Unless, of course, you believe in reincarnation.

Each player brings something unique to the game that you can't get anywhere else. Think of the NBA like a family. If you have kids, they aren't the NEXT you. And if they have kids, your grandchildren aren't your NEXT children.

Lots of people act like, if LeBron continues to be an excellent all-around player and goes on to win 6 championships, then Jordan is effectively erased from existence.

It's impossible to give any one person the title of "the greatest player ever". First, there are too many factors involved: who your opponents are, who your teammates are, what kind of offense is being run, what kind of defense you're up against, etc. Second, and more importantly, basketball is a TEAM game. This isn't golf, boxing, or tennis.

In a team sport, the "best player" MIGHT be (I'm not saying this is the only definition) the player who was the leader of a team that won the most championships. In that case, Bill Russell is the greatest player in NBA history, Jordan is up there in the running, and LeBron isn't even on the map.

The reality is that LeBron isn't the next anyone. He's the current LeBron. He has more improvements to make to his game, but he is already an excellent scorer, defender, passer, and rebounder.

    boom.
again D, you have laid the truth out like the red carpet and i am going to have to stroll on down it and agree with you.

But to Stevie, try telling that to the rest of the sports nation, that he isnt the next MJ......try telling ESPN too and ABC, the NBA and their announcers, etc etc............

found a better trade than Simmons which I tweaked only a little bit to make it more fair

Cavaliers get: LaMarcus Aldridge + future picks

Pelicans get: Anderson Varejao, 10th pick in the draft (Blazers)

    Warriors get: Ryan Ander...

But I feel like worse teams than us would offer that so you never know he might want to come back where it all started... then again he could hate us with a passion and want to go absolutely anywhere else

Hey there''s no guarantee Noel will go 1st. If I''m the Cavs I would definitely consider trading down.

I don''t like Dwight, but he''s a top center in the league. I say top not thee top because I''d easily pick Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah, and maybe even Roy Hibbert over him.

I flat out called out LA''s poor passing in a thread a few months ago. His passing is so much better than when he was young but he needs to get better.
