Faried's parents, Kenneth Lewis and Waudda Faried, labored together to raise a diligent worker and a rebounding terror. During the height of the Phil Jackson-era Chicago Bulls, Kenneth Faried did not model his game after Michael Jordan's or Scottie Pippen's; he sought to emulate mercurial forward and rebounding king Dennis Rodman.

"My mother and father," Faried said, "they used to tell me to watch him and how he rebounds and how he attacks. He's not afraid of anybody. I watched how he had no fear."

"I told Kenneth not to listen to anyone saying you are too small," said Rodman, who, like Faried, hails from New Jersey, stands just under 6-8, and became a national star despite coming from a small college (Southeast Oklahoma State). He said he told Faried, "You need to know your role and think every rebound is yours and go after it that way.''

Rodman added: "Kenneth has a good motor that keeps going and that's what reminds me of [myself]."

Kenneth was already my favorite prospect in the draft before reading this article but now that's gone up ten-fold. A non-crazy Dennis Rodman would be amazing. Dennis was the defensive player of the year during his career and regularly found himself atop the NBA's rebounding leaders list. I think this kid is going to be the steal of the draft.

Love how his parents told him to watch Rodman instead of MJ and Pippen. Not everyone can be an MJ or Scottie, but with hard work and determination, you can have an impact like the Worm did. Smart parents. Really hope we land this kid!

The blazers really wanted him last year but he went back for a fourth year of college. I would love to see him in a blazers uniform but i dont see him sliding all the way to the 21st pick. If the blazers want him they will likely have to trade up. If he were availible though it should be a no brainer.

I agree with RCC12..I just don't see him falling to us. Dangle Rudy or our 2nd round draft pick and move up a few spots. If we pass on another rebounding machine, I'll go ballistic!

Like D, Faried is hands down my top prospect and was before reading the Rodman piece.  His work ethic and maturity (4-year kid) will translate into the expansion of his game and systematic elimination of weaknesses.  Wonder what he and his parents thought of Buck Williams?

Rip a cap hold is a number given to free agents. Basically the cap hold is added to the teams salaries at the start of free agency. So for example a team has 10 million in cap space but has 15 million in cap holds they are technically over the sal...

You could trade the pick for someone like Sanders or someone young and a little more developed and hope Noel does not surpass them.

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

As long as he stops pulling the ball down in the post I will be happy nothing more annoying than watching that happen several times a game

The bucks are getting Batum a lottery pick and potentially 2 additional first round picks I really have a hard time seeing them turn that package down.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
