If the Blazers want to trade up for walker (a player who hasnt proved himself in this leage) they are going to have to pay a lot for it, most likely giving up a solid player who has proved himself in this league(Batum)

I think this is a Paul Allen move, he's going to try and package a deal with andre or patty probably leaving town, will be sad to see either of them go if that's true. But I feel like people are sleeping too much on kemba, he could be good in the nba, he can make his own shot and perhaps shots for others, and his contract won't be outrageous for the next 4 years if he's a high pick.

Can't overstate my reluctancies in turning the team over to a rookie point guard, especially without having an established veteran on the roster.  There are, and ofcourse have been exceptions to this line of thinking.  Key word: exceptions.  Not ready to put Walker in the Chris Paul category yet.

i have to agree. Besides I never even heard of Kemba until the big ten tournament. Yes his run was VERY impressive, but once again where was this guy the whole season? To give him credit, he stepped up and got the job done when it mattered most.

Its a tough choice to make. I dont like the idea of him being the starter for next season. Rookies (no matter how good) need time to ease into the NBA.

I think the Blazers should sign Aaron Brooks and trade up to get Kemba. A solid PG who has been a starter, along with Kemba who could grow at a comfortable speed coming off the bench. This provides a lot of speed, spreading the floor on offense, and a great combination of potential and youth for a team that should be getting better every year.

Im a huge fan of aaron brooks! It would also be good to have a point guard with experience playing in front of kemba. If the pirce is right go for it. but if the blazers have to give up too much its not worth it. this upcoming draft day will prove to be very interesting before everything is said and done.

u dont watch college basketball if u only heard of Kemba during the big ten tournament. He was the 3 leading scorer in the nation and was a regular on sportscenter for game winning shots since the maui tournament in the beginning of the year Uconn wasnt ranked and he led his team past the michigan state spartans with at the time a more  highly profiled point guard in Kalin Lucas then defeated kentucky in the finals. He was the feel good story all year. Where was he all season he was puttn in work and leading a team full of freshman after being a prodominant role player for 2 yrs and hit big shot after big shot. He got the job done all year dawg dont mean to rag on yu but dont say where was he all season like you watch college basketball he was in the headlines for college basjetball all season right there with Jimmer, Sullinger, and the i believe overrated Irving.

I believe in Kemba due to the fact he has the most composed professional napolean  complex in the draft perfect intangibles(graduated in 3 yrs, role player turned leader, 3 tournament championships in one year, at least 5 or 6 game winners or game clinching assists) and he has the heart of allen iverson, he's fearless. Allen was flawed in he didnt approach the game professionally and wasnt ok accepting roles unless it was specifically star scorer. Kemba is coachable and accepting of roles. The reason i wouldnt have a problem starting Kemba next season is because he doesnt have to be AI, at this point right now hes a better nba player than Patty Mills hes a better passer, defender, and scorer. At the very least he can produce the number JJ Barea would produce if he started around 14 pts 6assist, 2 stls.  I believe he could produce more because the fact we have Wesley and Gerald two very good slashers who excell at off ball movement. To maximize offensive production via off ball movement you need dynamic or imposing offensive players. For example LA get double teams in the post our shooter rotate and attempt to cut into lane for easy buckets and takn advantage of weak rotations. Kemba on the other hand can attack from the perimeter and force dynamic defensive rotations depending on where he attacks from. While LA will gain attention and help will come strictly from the right elbow the extended elbow and the right corner, LA never posts up on the right side or plays there. Kemba has the ability to change our offense, patty doesnt know wtf to do wen hes on the floor but he tries his hardest, Armon's defense is the best we have in terms of point guards, he can push the tempo, and hit the open man but plays to ahead of himself and not under control at times not knowing wen to assert his offense and keep the defense honest and wen to just run our offense.

kemba would be nice at any level. You cant teach a winning mentality. You either are or you're not. That kid will change the tempo. As for his rookie status, there have been some pretty impressive rookies lately.

If we do trade Dre, we're likely going to have to start Roy at point.  As Bdawg said, I'm not ready to put a rookie at the point guard position.  Especially after seeing how terrible Armon and Patty have been at times.  IE the last minute of the game @Atlanta in the 1st quarter.
