The T-Wolves will be stacked at the PG position with Rubio joining the team and perhaps the Blazers could get Johnny Flynn in a trade involving Rudy Fernandez and some other pieces. The T-Wolves would be getting a guy who will already have chemisty with Rubio and help ease his transition into the NBA(much like Sergio Rodriguez did during Rudy's rookie season) and the T-wolves would also be making room for their Pg of the future. Does this sound possible and what players do you think the blazers would have to give up to get the deal done? Please share your thoughts, opinions, and any scenarios you feel are possible!!

The TWolves now have a logjam at the point guard with Rubio, Flynn and Ridnour so getting rid of either Flynn or Ridnour makes sense on their behalf. The idea of making Rubio comfortable by trading for Rudy does make sense. But, with that said, I don't think Rudy straight up is enough for Flynn.

I do not like Johnny Flynn as our PG of the future.  FG% less than 40.  FT% less than 70. Assists not that good either.  Why should we give up anything for him.  I would rather go after Devin Harris from Utah.  I think his overall game is better.

I've proposed numerous times to buy low on Flynn and deal away Rudy for him in the process. With Ricky coming over, this makes it clear as day in my book. Rudy/Babbitt/#51 for Flynn?

Flynn's game is too little. I like Devin Harris, but his shooting needs improvement,so defenses cant cheat off of him. Minnesota needs another point guard, like we need a hole in the head. What do they have, five pg's now ? Where's Jarrett Jack ? New Orleans.

you have to keep in mind that Flynn isn't surrounded with a very good team in minnesota. The kid is still young and can develop. If the blazers were able to get him cheap he could be a Pg coming off the bench behind miller.Worst case scenario you get rid of a SG which is the position where the blazers are stacked and upgrade the backup PG spot for a somewhat cheap price

Flynn has a bigger upside than Harris, and we could get him for less. I dont love Flynn, but he is a young quick pg that can grow with our core.

I am so sick of hearing people spout about CP3 coming to town...  Hasn't happened yet in spite of rumors to the contrary, and don't see it happening any time soon.  Let's all come back to earth and discuss reality.

EXACTLY. Every year there have been RUMORS about Paul coming to Portland. But it HASN'T happened yet and it WONT. So FORGET about it. The only chance Portland had at getting paul was in the draft, and they traded their pick with Utah's which resulted in Derron Williams going to the Jazz and Martell Webster coming to Portland. On another note in that same draft Monta Ellis was selected with the 40th overall pick. So the Blazers could still find a good player with the 21st pick this year(Nate Robinson was the 21st pick in '05). Looking back that was a terrible draft by the Blazers. All they got out of it was Martell Webster and Jarret Jack who both play for different teams now.

I do not like this trade.  We would be trading three mid season starters plus two draft choices plus Babbit andFernandez for two players who cannot shoot over 40% from the field and a untested rookie.  Maybe we should trade for Kevin Love and #2.

If everyone likes Flynn then trade Fernandez plus our 21st pick for him.  I do not believe Flynn is worth any more.  In fact that may be too much.  Flynn would probably be a good backup and if he plays well then look at moving him into the starting lineup next year.  Or moving him off the team if he does not produce.

Maybe this would be a good result:

    Roy

    Oden

    Wallace            Starters

    Miller

    Aldridge

    Matthews

    Camby            Bench

    Batum

    Flynn

    DeAndre Jordan( Purchased)

    Others:

    E. Williams

    P. Mills

    C. Johnson

    Babbit

    Barron

    A. Johnson

This would be a fun team to watch

I would love to have Devin Harris on our team but I am afraid we would have to give up some of our core group.  If we could get Harris for #21, #51, Fernandez, Babbit, and A, Johnson then I would do the deal in a heartbeat.  This is probably wishful thinking on my part.  I like the idea of keeping Miller for backup PG duties but that is probably not possible.  Since Utah is projected to take two PG's in this draft in most mock drafts there is a possibility they may want to move Harris.

might as well give him a chance i like the idea of flynn more than fernandez. Portland is stacked at SG and is in need of a PG sounds like an OK trade to me.

You mean besides the fact that he is over six years younger, will only make 3 mil next year compared to Harris 9+mil, hasn't had Harris' history of leg injuries, and is a better passer? Harris has peaked as a player at 15 ppg and 5 apg, and after watching Flynn's college career I would be shocked if he didn't pass up Harris. I understand that Flynn hasn't accomplished alot in the league, but he would only be a senior in college this year if he had stayed, he's got plenty of upside. And dont get too caught up in straight-line speed, lateral quickness is more important in basketball and Flynn is not lacking in that department.
