Speaking of Portland, what can the Blazers do to improve this offseason?

One obvious way to get better is by having a healthy Greg Oden. Beyond that, I think they have to get more shooting, and Andre Miller is the most expendable piece in that equation. I can undestand the hesitation to deal him, but unless they can find a market for Brandon Roy (good luck with that), Miller and Fernandez are the expendable pieces. I'm also interested to see what Elliot Williams can give them.

What do you guys think? While I believe Dre's potential expiring deal makes him desirable to other teams, I still think we have other pieces that could get the job done  this offseason. It's not Dre or bust in my opinion.

i agree with the statement about shooting, personally i think they dont need to shot any more, but shoot better, i guess....
But even though Andre has no shot, he is way to valuable to this offense's success to just drop him and rely on Armon, Patty or Elliot to come in and fill his shoes.
Look to keep one of the three names above and trade the other two for a somewhat decent / somewhat experienced PG, if not a scorer a facilitator.
But Andre Miller did begin to score alot more points as the season came to a close, his offense, the shooting and creating for himself part, isnt 100% and neither is Pattys/Armons or Elliot's ( i would assume) but at least he can make up for the points he doesnt score by creating scoring opportunities for his other teamates.
This off season is going to require alot of "what if" situationals.

But side note: What a horrible way to start that paragraph off talking about Oden, thats like the Normandy beach scene in private ryan, just no chance..... at least put oden last and talk about good things first. >:/

Well we have to pick up Andre's option first before we talk about him being an asset to the team...

I will make one commet. Dre was good down the stetchwithout roy. Dre was good ally oops with the big men. But because of our players, I feel like me must trade him. I think mathews needs more touches and if roy can somehow come back 95% who he originally was he needs the ball in his hands as well. Gerald needs some good touches, same with aldrige and i think battuum deserses a couple more touches. I think with the sg's we have we need a pg that can shoot 3's and occasionally drive to the basket, almost like the way Jason Kidd plays these days.

why does everyone act like dre's inability do drill 3's is the only thing hindering this team? we have a ton of shooters, patty, wesley, roy, rudy, batum, aldridge, wallace, can all sink jump shots. what we lack is attacking the basket and getting to the line. sure, aldridge is a beast in the post, but no one else attacks the basket, screw jump shots, drive it to the hole. (im on my knees begging batum especially as i say that) we all know wallace knows how to attack, but i haven't seen him do it a whole lot on the blazers... and for the love of god move without the ball, everyone use to stare at roy create his own shot, now everyone stares at miller to aldridge lobs. what if you had wings slashing to the hoop collapsing defenses, you'd open up jumpers and plenty of opportunity to attack if you simply moved without the ball.

like i mentioned its more the lack of efficiency this team shoots with that is the "shooting" issue....

but miller is key to any of this
what we lack is attacking the basket and getting to the line
at least for now he is a key component for this type of offensive success

Not two months. It wasn''t a major injury, X rays came back positive. I know he played because we had no one who could replace him, and that was admirable, but it simply does not take that long. When he had a good game, he said my wrist felt good....

Yeah I was one of them *blushes*. I was never a diehard fan of basketball until the 2011-2012 postseason. I could name every team, but I always forgot two. Kings and Blazers.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
