Have we fired Rich Cho after one season ? Whats the deal ? Has anyone else heard this. If it is in fact true, who's on our radar ? Are we bringing back Pritch ? Cant say i saw this coming.

It's true.  In fact, the news is postered all over the home page.  I first saw the report on a less than reputable site, and figured it for banter.  I am COMPLETELY blown away and, like you, didn't see this coming.  The uneasy feeling I had during last year's draft with the news that KP was being let go, is now returning.

So whats up their sleeve BDawg? Are we going to just wing it during the draft ? I mean Babbitt and Armon were instant ether last year, only to turn out to be laughing gas. Now Cho is done. Who's out there available that has Pritch type skills?

That my friend, is a very good question.  I really favored Cho's analytical, statistical probability approach and felt confident the injury problems haunting this organization were things of the past, as he seemed to conduct business based more on research and data than "feel".  I can now only hope that this move was made as a result of an owner growing impatient and wanting to win at a high level sooner, rather than later.  Still, I can't help but feel Cho wasn't given much of a chance.

Conspiracy theories galore... I truly believe what happened was Cho wanted to start rebuilding so-to-speak, by trading or dumping Roy, Miller, Camby, maybe even Batum. Again, I am NOT SURE of this, but it just seems like from things I read he had hinted that he wanted to go in a different direction with this franchise. Of course, Paul Allen didn't like this. I believe that the Blazers GM is just a puppet for Mr. Allen, and Allen does have the final say in all moves. It doesn't surprise me that he was fired, although I didn't see this coming, if that makes sense.  Allen wants to win now, Cho wanted some time to tweak pieces and probably thought we were a couple years away from truly contending. That simple

I just can't remember a GM going from the "smartest guy in the room" to unemployed, in such a short amount of time...AND with a move the caliber of the Wallace deal to his credit as well...a move many considered to be the most one-sided of the '10-'11 campaign.

I am totally left scratching my head on this one. Allen says that it was about their commitment to putting together a championship contender. Um...Cho acquired both Matthews and Wallace. I'd say he did a pretty good job for his first year. It seems Vulcan is pulling the strings...tightly....and they forced Allen to to pull a Donald Trump on Cho. I don't know if there is anyone better out there for the job, and now frankly with the firing of our GM's two years back to back I'm not sure if anyone will want to come near the job. It seems to be a you get one year to win us a championship and if you don't your fired type deal. Personally I liked Cho, and Cho I want you to know that the decision of Allen and the Blazers to fire you is in no way shared by the fans. There is a bad taste left in out mouth, just as there is yours. Good luck in your future endeavors, and I will be afraid of the next team you work with, because we know how the Thunder turned out.

According to the team's press release, Chad Buchanan will be the interim GM, in a very similar situation to last year. I'm not worried with Chad and co. at the helm because they orchestrated the Wesley Matthews deal, but this is getting ridiculous. How do you deal Przy and Dante for Wallace and get canned? Did Cho want to blow it up? Does PA want to win it all now? Was it Cho who wanted Roy suspended for Game 3 the one and only straw? I am at a loss for words.

At first glance it seems like really bad news for the team. Allen just seems like another overly rich meddler. Seriously, you brought Cho here for what - to fire him? Allen, you are a weird Dude.

As disappointed as I am in hearing this news, I know that much goes on behind closed doors that we are not aware of, and am resisting the urge to allow myself too much of a knee-jerk reaction, choosing to wait until more information surfaces.  I remember the reaction myself and much of this fanbase had with the termination of KP.  Later, I would recant my opinions while maintaining that however justified, the move had very poor timing (Babbitt, AJ, and EW were the result).

rich cho was great. we would not have gotten wallace during that trade without him.  now like last year we head into the draft witho no gm. looks like were going to end up with the armon babit like picks that do nothing for our roster

This just adds to the list of things about the Blazers that brings me down....tired of paying 8.75 for a beer...people above me and beside me either getting up every 5 minutes or spilling beer on me.  No sense of direction  for the past two years.  Now they fire Cho?  I will save my money and watch games a block down the road for free and pay 3.75 for an IPA.  I'm a FAN, I just want some stability for this team.  I think Roy is toast...get rid of him and his bad attitude...the sooner the better !

    Go Blazers !!

Oh, and after 3  years of being a season ticket holder I did not renew, I'll be playing more golf. Not once in those three years did I ever get a call from my rep...All those empty seats in the lower level, you'd think they would let someone upgrade at least once a season???   Take note Blazers....take care of your season ticket holders !!!  Bye  :)~

idk why everyone thinks babbit is bad he just has nerves i think he'll make a great pro when his time comes if you watch him play you would notice he can actually create his own shot which is a premium on are team he pretty quick for how big he is and he can shoot the three and rebound i dont see the problem hes just tentative thats all hes a rookie

if paul allen quit dumping his money into players and just paid off stern and the officials like cuban we'd be well on our way. can you imagine aldridge getting 20 free throws a game?

well the trading Bayless for a first round from NO is enough of a reason.

We got developing Blazers all over the place. ou want better players now, you'll have to shift some personel around and trade for guys that are already in the NBA. And trust me, there are a lotta good players in the NBA.
