So the idea of getting deandre jordan, a 23 year old 7 footer averaging 7 and 7 off the bench is very intriguing to me, ive been hearing from alot of sources that we will try to pick him up regardless of what happens to oden. Hes a free agent and he was getting paid under a million this year. I think it would be great if we could sign him to a 3 year deal worth about 8 million - 10 million dollars. He would be very effective and could learn alot from camby. hes the next tyson chandler in my eyes. I think it would be a great move for us. Hes cheap and will be effective especially in a league thats lacking athletic big men.

He had a great year this year...I think he will garner a lot of interest and likely get a $5+/year contract. He's young and a very good shot blocker. I don't think we can really get him with our cap situation and current contracts.

im worried this off-season Portland will get too many centers and have the same problem they currently have at the 2 position. having  camby oden possibly nene or jordan plus aldridge in the post seems like a lot of people who need minutes.

If we were to sign jordan we would most likely let oden and johnson go so it wouldnt be crowded. and jordan will bring home about 5 or 6 mill per year which is still alot cheaper than nene who will get at least 9 or 10. he got 10 mill this year. we would be unbelievably lengthy down low, defensively set. he underrated because hes been on the clips playing behind griffin and kamen. yet he still averages 7 and 7 off the bench.

i can say from first hand experience, going to clipper games and seeing the silly little movies they show during pre game and timeouts.
like " Get Clipperized!!!!" or something....
they love Jordan. or at least favor him heavily. he has become a great big man and has developed a nice speed in transition and a solid dunk. he hustles.

but i think they will get rid of Kaman before they let Jordan go....

I think that after the past 3 seasons Portland has had, the organization would feel finally comforted if they had too much depth at center. If they pick up just DeAndre Jordan, then that would leave him and Oden to learn from a veteran like Camby. I also think a little competition at the backup spot would be good for Oden at this point - forcing him to realize that he has to play hard to stay. On top of that all, we know that Camby won't play 82 games so depth is needed at this position. After what we've been through, too much depth at center is the last of our problems. (Leaving out Nene or a big time center because we can't afford him unless we got rid of camby, miller, roy, or aldridge's contracts. Portland won't sign two centers during the same offseason)

We could get him with the mid-level exception and look to use Camby, Miller, Batum, Fernandez, Babbitt and Roy to package with Cleveland or Detroit for draft picks or to get CP3 or D. Howard. Possible Batum, Fernandez and Roy to Cleveland for #4 and #32. Camby, Miller and Babbitt to Minnesota for #2 and #20. We will see what happens in the next month.

I believe DeAndre is a restricted free agent. I have a hard time seeing the Clippers not matching a mid-level exception offer (the highest the Blazers could go on him).

I would be shocked if the Clippers don't resign this guy he the perfect fit for them and him and blake will be a scary frontcourt but, it is the Clippers so you never know.

DeAndre Jordan is a beast. He can't shoot the ball at all, but if he's above the rim, that don't matter too much.

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
