Theres 4 or 5 players in the draft that i think could really help us. Kyrie irving, derrick williams, kemba walker, jimmer, and possibly brandon knight but im not sure about him. With our team being in need of a future pg, can we really pass up the chance to get one of these 3 good point guards? those being walker, jimmer and irving. Idk ive always loved the draft because the players talent is up in the air. what do u think? can we even afford to trade up into the top 5 or 6?

no way we can get those picks without giving up a chunk of our roster.  We have a good chance of drafting some solid role players like farried etc.  We need to look for other players around the league that our young but can step into a starting role

I think Rich Cho is probably looking to move up in the draft, just like last year. Trade Rudy or Luke or someone extra on the roster to get a better pick, whether it included our pick also or not, just like we did for Martell Webster last year.

If there is a point guard that will be our PG of the future then I think we should trade our #21 and Nic Batum to Utah for the #3 pick in the draft.  This would give us flexibility to move in several directions should the opportunity exists.

I don't like trading Nic for a draft pick. I think trading someone like Rudy or Luke Babbitt for a draft pick would be fine, maybe Armon if someone would bite...but not Nicolas.

Pshhh. I'd trade Batum for the #3 pick in a second. SURE, Batum has endless potential...but the guy doesn't have the motor to develop it! He has NO EMOTION when he's playing. Personally, I don't see him developing into the "Star" everybody thinks he will turn into. Trade Nic and draft B. Knight, the kid is a CLOSER, he want's the ball in his hands come closing seconds, down 2. Something the Blazers are LACKING. A CLOSER, A FINISHER, not a wannabe Scottie Pippen. Get real.

Trade up for what?? Another bench player who doesnt get any playing time? You dont trade an established player(s) for a lets get him and wait player. Trade the euros who you own the rights to and maybe future picks or cash. Dont be stupid anymore!

    Maybe this:

    Batum for Raymond Felton

#21 plus second round pick plus bench player to move up to get Klay Thompson

This would get your PG for the future and a strong SF/SG for insurance against more injuries.

I really like the value in the draft right around where we are picking. Either we move all the way up to get our franchise point guard (Knight, Irving) or move up just a couple of slots to get our guy. Instead of moving up a lot, I'd like to see us buy a pick in the 20's. If we could leave this draft with a combo of say Jordan Hamilton and Kenneth Faried, we'd be the draft winners.

When do we NOT move up in the draft? I know we have a new GM in place this year, but typically, the Blazers have been very active in the draft and Rich Cho and his crew with Seattle/OKC were on the move during a lot of those same drafts as well.

I agree with 6thMan. Look for another bench player (Webster last year) for draft pick type of move. My guess is that bench player will be Rudy.

Yeah, because we have had really good luck in our awesome draft picks the last couple of years. Even if we did get a good player out of the draft they wont be playing for Nate in the next couple of seasons. If you want to see all that good talent running around in the Dleague I say yes, If you want a player to help this team get past the first round, I say if trades are made, lets get someone Nate will play and who isn't green.

    thats right!
thats more spot on than durants dunk in game 2......

i think this team needs to stop relying on the hopes of acquiring some young hotshot super star to help guide this team into the playoffs, because thats not how it happens. its just not that easy....
look at some of the top draft picks from last year, wall, cousins, griffin, not one of their teams prevailed in the reg season, they were all thought to just be a joke when someone said playoffs.
however their new players did play well and had decent stats.
but this franchise needs to grow up, they want to have their cake and eat it tooo.....
its time to part with one of the players that this team has been holding on to for the past 3 or 4 years and have done nothing with or for them.
Batum/Roy/Aldridge or even Oden, these guys can bring in someone really dope but the thing is that nobody wants to get rid of them ""because they have soo much potential" well if you think about it, obviously that potential is not coming out on this team.
Aldridge finally started to play like he should except he disappeared in the playoffs, Batum is just waiting to explode but idk whether its the team or the coach that is holding him back, Roy still a decent starter but obvious doubts about his knees have brought speculation about his expiration date, and Oden what the hell has this been about, i mean just about every other fan complains about Stern or the Refs holding this team back but its stupid decisions such as keeping Oden for the past 4 years and paying him to be injured that hold this team back....
its time for portland to leave the comfort zone....
its time to for this franchise to grow up and make a tough decision like the rest of the teams in the NBA

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
