I found this article in the Dallas Fort-Worth Sports Day, entitled "Mavericks will not face a tougher environment than what they faced in Portland."

That Portland thing – I think when you look back at it – they’re not going to play in a tougher environment than Portland. They’re just not. Oklahoma City might be comparable but it’s not going to be any tougher and so once they survive that…it’s not like they didn’t have the best record in the league on the road this year. So, when you put those two factors together, I think they’re just as comfortable on the road as at home and I think they’re going to be a tough out for Memphis or Oklahoma City.

While our weather and small market status may have some the big name free agents shying away from Portland, continual positive publicity about how loud and amazing our home court atmosphere at the Rose Garden is can only help our chances when it comes free agency time.  I love the reputations that we are building and hope it only becomes stronger in the upcoming years. Hats off to all of the fans!

A lot of people talk about how Portland isn't a big market and free agents don't want to come here. But I really like the point you just brought up about our home court and fan base being a very attractive selling point. It worked for Camby (and hopefully Wallace too!)...

I just really loved the part about the writer saying OKC's crowd won't be any tougher than ours was. Looks like wearing the same color every single game doesn't make you the noisiest crowd on the block now does it?

Well as far as who SHOULD come out of the west, I think the mavs will be the best representative. Not to mention for all the years Dirks been in the league he STILL hasn't won a championship.

Sorry Cmeese. I think the Magic lucked out, pure and simple.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Howard would be fine if he was the same player he was in Orlando, but his back has really slowed him down and he is no longer the most dominant center in the league. His offense was always trying to dunk on people and getting fouled he has not imp...

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
