    LaMarcus Aldridge's Season Highlights



    Congratulations to LaMarcus Aldridge for being named today to the All-NBA 3rd Team! LA averaged a career-high 21.8 points, on 50% shooting, 8.8 rebounds 1.2 blocks & 1.0 steals per game during his 2011 campaign. It just goes to show that you don't need to be an All-Star to be recognized as one of the NBA's elite. But do you think he should have been named to the 1st or 2nd team instead?

    I said 3rd because I honestly don't think LA is better than the 4 Forwards who made 1st and 2nd teams just yet. I think he can and will be, but not quite yet.

    I am thrilled he got the votes, and that the 3 guys who made the All-Star game ahead of him who maybe shouldn't have did not make the All-NBA teams. Legacy wise, the All-NBA teams are probably of more significance when rating a player's career :)

    hm, i said 2nd. He didnt compare to Dirk, however, i think he played better than Pau Gasol and more consistently too.

    I can't argue for the first team, but LA plays defense unlike Dirk, and Pau really... Did any of the voters actually watch the Playoffs?  La schooled most of the best forwards in the league head to head during the regular season.  His time will come though.  2012-13 will be his year! Go Blazers!

    I think LA should have been 2nd team. What did Pau Gasol do? He had a down year and had the best supporting cast playing around him in the NBA while Aldridge, on some nights, had to do it all by himself.

    Also, Dirk needs to be above Durant. Dirk IS the Mavericks. KD had Westbrook, Green (for the majority of the year) and Ibaka helping him out. I just don't think Durant is the "bees knees" but that's just me. Dirk is showing now in the playoffs why he should have been 1st team All-NBA.

    Both LA & Dirk should have made first team. LeBron had a down season by his standards and we all know Wade is the fuel that runs that team and Durant is a glorified jump shooter. Also, Kobe on the first team? This isn't a lifetime achievement award. Not only did he have a down year but so did the Lakers.

    My First Team would be:
    Dwight,Aldridge,Dirk,Wade,Rose

    I voted 2nd, but that's only because I'm a Blazer homer. I really appreciated LMA's resurgence this past year and his play down low. It took a lot of energy to play all those minutes, banging against NBA caliber bigs all while being asked to be your team's go-to scorer on offense.  But I'm happy with 3rd. I'm more happy that he beat out weak Love & Griffin for a spot on the All-NBA team. All-Star? Who cares! Even Jamal Magloire was once an All-Star. All-NBA is where its at! Nicely done Train!

    3rd is the best position for him right now, because he doesn't play as my prediction, La would be better next season I believe! Congrats for him!

    at this point id put him over pau...did pau get player of the month once this season? or even player of the week?

    I think Aldridge could be "the man" on a championship-level team, do the rest of you think that way too or htink he's a great #2 option instead?

    Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
