You Be The GM: Patty Mills
Stay - He brings great energy & chemistry to the team (15)

    Go - Not enough on-court production (1)
     6%
Oregon Live does their annual You Be The GM posts and up next is rookie point guard Patty Mills.

He had moments of production over the course of the season, providing an occasional spark off the bench (14 points, 6-8 FG in 14 minutes March 2 at Sacramento; 11 fourth-quarter points against Miami on Jan. 9; 14 points, a career-high five steals and five assists in 23 minutes Jan. 2 vs. Houston). But Mills was best known this season for his towel waving, high-fiving act on the bench. He became the resident chemistry builder for the Blazers, especially in the locker room and in the social media world.

Known more for his towel waving than on court play, Patty Mills was a huge reason why the Trail Blazers had such a strong bond over the course of the 2010-11 season. Whether he was making Rudy feel at home or dishing out nicknames to his fellow teammates like assists, Patty Mills' energy and enthusiasm rubbed off on any and every one around him. And he wasn't bad on the hardwood either. A great change of pace guard off the bench, Mills showed a knack for knocking down triples and upping the tempo every time he checked in. He may not be a future starting point guard, but every team needs role players and he definitely embraces his role 100%.

According to HoopsHype, Patty Mills is a restricted free agent this summer. Is Patty's energy and camaraderie enough to get him a contract offer or will the team look in another direction for a backup point guard?  So what is it Rip City, stay or Go?

Stay. Of course Pat Stacks has to stay. If you have a crappy locker room ( see The Lakers), no amount of talent can help you win. You need guys like Patty who lighten up the locker room and keep everyone loose. As for actually playing, I think he deserves more of a shot. He can shoot, is quick and is a great change of pace compared to Andre.

you mean in the sense that he's screwing around more than he plays. i agree.

if he plays basketball and isnt running around late at night chasing tail with rudy, or chasing rudy's tail.
    or creating podcasts around portland.

The energy he brings is worth keeping him.
He IMO will end up being the 3rd point guard in 11-12 behind Miller & Williams.
Assume Miller stays.  That might be a big assumption.

Every team needs an energy guy and a Guy to boost morale I just hope he's a gym rat this summer because he can help this team and like CyldeFrog said he can change the pace of the game and he is a good shooter.

Otto Porter, the next Kevin Durant? No. But Unholy, I feel like we would not be that much better in the paint. Blair is much shorter than JJ.

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
