Despite a career-best regular season, Batum had a ho-hum postseason off the bench for the Blazers. He averaged 8.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and shot 41 percent (including 27 percent from deep) in 25 minutes per game, including a scoreless outing (0-4, 12 minutes) in Game 6 against the Mavericks.

Will Batum take that proverbial "next step" that so many promising young players are judged by? After bursting onto the scene at age 19, Batum started nearly every game at small forward for the 54-win Trail Blazers all while showing a defensive prowess unmatched by most and flashes of overall brilliance. Most were ready to crown him the second-coming of Scottie Pippen. A should injury derailed the start of his Sophomore campaign but those glimpses of what could be were still evident. Batum doubled his scoring average from 5 to 10 points and was the most reliable three-point shooter, knocking down nearly 41% of his trifectas in 2010. Batum had a strong start and finish to the regular season as he averaged 14.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in October and 16.5 points in April. In between those two months were filled with inconsistencies. And for the third straight postseason, Nic had another rough postseason.

Can the roller coaster ride that was his 2011 season be attributed to be in and out of the starting lineup, the addition of Gerald Wallace, just the growing pains of a 22 year old play or all of the above? According to HoopsHype, Nic has two years left on his rookie deal worth $2.1 million in 2011-12 before the qualifying offer must be made. A bargain considering Nic's production, skill set and potential to become ever better. But will the Blazers hold onto him, hoping he becomes a star or will they try to sell high and add a position of need now that Gerald Wallace is in town at the 3? So what is it Rip City, stay or Go?

Here are highlights from Nico's best performance from the 2010-11 season against Washington where he tallied 22 points and 12 rebounds

You hear the saying scratching the surface I don't think Batum has even touched the surface of how good he can be I look at it the same way you look at Greg do you take the risk of Nic exploding with another team by trading him I think this is a perfect situation for Nic because he can learn some things from Gerald and every year he has inproved i seen it so many times with this team we trade someone and they just explode and I don't want to take that chance I say Stay.

Go. This has nothing to do with Nic, but I feel like we are in WIN NOW mode. We have a budding superstar in Aldridge, another all-star in Gerald Wallace who's in his prime and we need that third musketeer. Batum may be that player someday but will it be too late? I wouldn't hesitate to use Batum as our centerpiece offer this summer to acquire another star player to help take the load off of LA. But I wouldn't be upset if we kept Batum either. Win-win for me.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
