Oden's Agent: "Greg Will Play Next Season"

     "I know that he'll play next year, and as long as he keeps his weight down, he'll get back to being the Greg we knew, being able to run and jump and everything. The thing is keeping him healthy and give him the confidence to play without being scared."
     "I think there will be offer sheets on him and he'll have an opportunity to earn more at Portland, or if Portland doesn't want to match it, he can play somewhere else. I know there will be some teams interested," Conley said.

    It's hard to believe that Greg is still only 23 years old. Plenty of gas left in the tank if the car can get running if you know what I mean. It's good to hear positive things coming out about him playing next year, even if it is from his agent. I just hope he's with us and not elsewhere to start the next year.

    Wow.  How often do we hear player's agents talk about their clients needing to stay healthy, "keeping their weight down"?  Bad move Conley.  Conley's remarks should be concerning, as they may be indicative of a motivational issue.  Much publicized have been GO's struggles with the mental and emotional sides of his many challenges in Portland.  My concerns with Oden exist with what's between his ears and in his heart.  First and foremost, I wish Greg, the person, the best.   

    Not any one move or player can right this Blazer ship the way a healthy and motivated GO can.  This situation becomes more "high risk, high reward" every day seemingly.
