Will There Be A Game 7?
Yes - The Team Will Ride The Crowd's Energy To A Game 6 Win (44)
     85%
No- Dallas Will Continue To Force Us To Hit From The Outside (8)
     15%

The phrase "must win" is thrown out a lot of times during the course of a season or playoff series. For the first time all year, the Trail Blazers are faced with a must win. It's win or go home. Do or die. Whatever cliche there is, the Blazers are facing it. Down three games to two, the Trail Blazers head back to the rowdy Rose Garden for the final time in this series with hopes of forcing a deciding Game 7 back in Dallas this Saturday.

But firs things first, the Blazers need to take care of business in Game 6. I know they feel confident at home, and why shouldn't they? They are 12-1 in their last 13 home games dating back to March 5th with the lone loss coming at the hands of those pesky Warriors. In that time frame (50 days), Portland has beaten Dallas four times.  Although the stats say Portland should win Game 6, the Blazers can't rely solely on the crowd to get them past the Mavs on Thursday. Dallas played like a team in an elimination game during Game 5 - attacking the hoop, getting to the line, tipping & grabbing every loose ball. The Blazers simply didn't match their energy and it showed. Portland was outworked on the glass 49-37, allowed Dallas 20 offensive rebounds. If Dallas shoots better than 41% from the field or 17% from 3 (3-17), this game could have been real ugly. Both teams struggled to find the mark early on, similar to Game 4, but Dallas found ways to manufacture offense. They got to the stripe 35 times to Portland's 19 and making 26 to our 14. The final score was 93-82, an 11 point difference. If the Blazers, the NBA's 3rd leading free throw shooting team convert their freebies, it's a whole new game.

The Trail Blazers are averaging 86.6 points per game, that's 10 points less than their regular season average. Outside of the miraculous comeback of game 4, the Blazers need to score big to win. In Game 3, they reached 97. Conversely, the Mavericks averaged 100 points in the regular season but have only managed to break the centry mark one time (101 in Game 2) and have posted only 91.4 points per game this series. Regardless of Jason Kidd and Peja Stojakovic's resurgence early on in this series and Dirk living at the line, Portland is getting the job done defensively this series. If you were to have told me, Dallas would average 91 a game through five games, I would have said Blazers would be packing for New Orleans or Los Angeles. I know it's the Captain Obvious thing to say, but if we don't score, we don't win. Who's going to step up from the outside to unclog the middle?

My heart wants a Game 7 but my head says "Don't get your hopes up." We are the better team on paper, but we can't shoot to save our lives. Dallas really has outplayed us the entire series and I feel lucky that there even is a Game 6. We need to be the aggressors in Game 6 and get off to a hot start. Dallas hasn't really came out with their hair on fire many times this series and outside of Game 3, we haven't either. Just come out swinging and  NO MORE offensive lapses please Blazers and we got this!

All the pressure is on Dallas in this game.  The National media shows a Dallas win as a forgone conclusion.  The Mavericks would love to close out this series and get some rest before starting the 2nd round.  Hopefully the Blazers come out with maximum energy on both ends of the court.

The whiteout in the RG will 'brighten' the mood and I feel confident the starting 5 will jump at the opportunity.  Hopefully Nate has the confidence to stay the course (as long as the plan is being executed properly).  We need an inside presence early to own the boards and control the tempo of the game.

Scoring, Rebounding Energy and Effort that the keys for me our defense is fine but giving Dallas 20 offensive rebounds won't get it done if we can score 95 & over will win if not will have another first round exit in 6 games so I'm with ClydeFrog I hope we get A game 7 and I hope LA is getting good rest.

My key?  Have more points on the board than Dallas at the end of the game.  Excuses are growing tiresome.  Go out and play ball with whatever it is that you have left, period.  Yes LA, I'm talking to you.  For the Blazers to even stand A CHANCE in the future, LA must be in an attacking mindset for the full 48.  Should Portland force a seventh game, Dallas will be the bearer of all of the pressure, playing at home in front of thousands of their toughest critics, with the rest of the world watching.  I feel the Blazers will take the series IF it goes seven.  I picked Dallas in 6 though, and am standing by that pick.

Would like to see Johnson get more of a run behind Camby.  The CBA Defensive Player Of The Year causes issues for Dallas when on the floor and keeps LA from having to play out of position at center, where he is far more likely to pick up unncecessary fouls.  Wouldn't want to draw the defensive assignment on Gerald in game six if I were a Mav.  GO BLAZERS!  PROVE ME WRONG.

this is the game that will decide the series.
the big kahuna, the one that counts, the terror of titans, collosuss of crowns, the sultan of swat.
okay maybe not those last few but this is a huge game.

just drive to the rack and get fouls, make free throws. and for goodness sake, please dont die by the 3 ball.
    limit batum to his three's.
2-7 in the last game, yikes.
BRoy might feel like playing like a champ again, and someone needs to pep talk aldridge into the beast he was earlier this season.

matthews and wallace will decide this game i believe.

the team feeds off of the energy they provide.

Yes, in my opinion there will be a game 7, once again Rose Garden make it happen and Blazers win this game with Roy or somebody else being a hero but like wrote Clyde Frog what about next game in Dallas ? When we play in offence like in first 3 games outside Portland it will be end of playoffs ... or the team can change it and play better I mean shoot and score finally !!!

    GO BLAZERS !!!
I am a fan of Portland Trail Blazers, RIP CITY !!!

Portland needs to play in and out ball and hit the boards. Crash needs to crash the boards and make some easy buckets. Matthews needs to light it up from outside (like game 3) to open up the middle! They need to leave it all out on the court and scrap for every loose ball. I'm bettin LA gets pissed and goes for 26 and 10 and we have a Game 7 on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No.  We're done.  They look like last season - tired.  Only Dre seems to care at this point.  If you get into a jumpshooting contest with Dallas, you lose.  That's what we've done nearly every game.

Portland by far is the better team.  They just haven't shown it.  Their attitude about this series is poor.

If the Trail Blazers want to win the series, EVERYONE must step up. That includes: Gerald Wallace (being more aggressive and physical), Wesley Matthews (making more three-pointer and field-goals), Brandon Roy (staying focus and ready), and Nicolas Batum (must make more field-goal). Additionally they NEED to prevent the Mavericks going to the free-throw-line. Which also means that the Blazers MUST get to the free-throw-line.

I agree!!! Because once he gets a few points in paint, he can then knock down the 3s.   However, I actually think Batum should start because if Wallace hasn't
figured out how to score on Marion by now, he's not going to in game 6 either!   Maybe not starting this game would light a fire in him as he's been tentative and
shut down by Marion!  And, if the Blazers starters just walk out when they're being announced again, I'm going to be extremely disappointed!  Camby was the only
Blazer that showed any spark when he was announced.  GO  BLAZERS!!!!!!

I TRY to be a fan of the Trail Blazers, but, they don't help !!!  They lost game 6 again because they DON'T REALLY want to win !!  After some thought I am now convinced their LACK of "energy" (desire) is really a coaching problem.  Nate might know basketball, but, he surely does NOT know how to "inspire" his players to win.  I'm done trying to be a fan !!
I am a fan of changing the blazers head coach !
