    before he wriggy wrecks himself!
    Via Oregon Live-
Roy was one of the first players to leave the locker room, but when he was stopped in the hallway, the hurt and confusion were still evident.

“I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little hurt, or disappointed,'' Roy said. “But the biggest thing is to keep moving, to try and keep my spirits up. But it's tough man. I just …. I just always thought I would be treated better. That was a little disappointing for me.''

Roy said he believes he can still help this team, but he can't do it the way McMillan used him on Tuesday.

“I come in the last sub of the first quarter … then OK, I'm in there for (2:36), then I play, then it's the end of the quarter,'' Roy said. “Then I start the second and Bam! I'm right back on the bench again. I mean, I don't know what I could have done! Then I sit, and he puts Patty and Rudy in before me. I know physically I have to play, but mentally, how do I just go …''

Roy acts like he is being put in the game, and feigns a skipping motion.

“'It's OK! I'm going to play' and be all giddy?'''

    Continue-->

Is this guy for real? We just lost to go down 0-2 and all he can think about it how he needs to play more? Sorry B, but you're no better then Patty, Rudy, or Nic so if your the last sub, then so be it. Suck it up and ball outta control. That is what bench players do. They come in and produce in short amounts of time. He had his chances to make a difference but he missed a few easy buckets and clanked two free throws. Now is definitely not the time to start feeling sorry for  yourself. Chin up Brandon and focus on Game 3. You've got the ability, just get everything right upstairs.

I realize it's got to be more than difficult for him to handle going from the franchise to a bench player, but now is not the time to be complaining. I know he's frustrated, but honestly Brandon isn't helping that much right now. Hopefully he can have another good outing against Dallas like he did when he scored 21 on March 15th.

You know I have been wondering about this for awhile. He is coming off the bench and to be honest he looks like do-do. Whether it is the woe -is-me attitude or what I do not know. I wish Nate would have tried this little experiment during the regular season and start him and say put up or shut up time. Doing it now probably wont help much but maybe it would give the team a kick in the pants I dont know. As it stands right now I see him being put on waivers and Allen buys out his contract. I really wish it wasn't so but I have seen no contribution from Roy these last 2 games

I'm sorry he is feeling this way. I'll be the first to say I wish he was his old self or playing better in general. If he can, I hope he can get it together and contribute when he's called upon. We need to be strong as a team right now - when the time comes (off-season) he can address issues, but right now, as he said, be a man and deal. He's done great things for the team and its a tough stretch right now, but all I can say is, focus on the team.

I love B-Roy. He is easily my favourite player simply because of the way he plays and the style he has on the court.
Now, I'm not gonna sit here and say that I know what it feels like to one day be the franchise player and the next be the last sub off the bench in a playoff game, because I don't. I do however, believe he shouldn't be taking shots at Coach for not playing him enough or at his teamates coming off the bench before him. Also, he shouldn't be saying "I thought I would be treated better". Bro, your gonna be making $85 million dollars over the next five years and you got people working around the clock to support you and help you get back to All-Star caliber form; please don't say your not treated good.
And also, a message to all the fans saying "Roy is done" and "he should retire". Come on guys, this is B-Roy we're talking about here. What have we seen from him in the last 5 years other than hardwork and commitment to the team, the franchise and us as the fans. He is doing everything PHYSICALLY possible to get himself back to his old form and the team back to the place as The NBA's "Next Big Thing". He's just gotta work out a couple of MENTAL kinks and thoughts that he is having and I believe he will be alright, and so should the rest of you!
Finally, something for you Mr. Roy. Come on man. We love you. We need you. We all still believe in you. Don't give up hope and don't let those bad thoughts creep into your head and distract you. Show all those people saying bad things about you that you are Brandon Roy; the best two-guard in the West (once Kobe's done), the face of the best franchise in basketball The Portland Trail Blazers and show them that your here to stay.

I am a fan of retooling, not rebuilding.

First of all, I feel for him. It can't be easy to change from water to wine in such short period of time. Not long ago he was the franchise's most valuable player and now there's people saying he's done and should consider early retirement. That must hurt a lot his ego.
Now, I honestly don't understand what he's trying to accomplish with this kind of statement, after all he's a professional and, obviously, paid to do what's he's told at working hours being on the bench or on the court. Like all of us professionals in no matter what we do, we deal with it with professionalism, I mean directly with the people involved, not the media. Specially during the playoffs where the team needs no distraction.

I wish to have him back on track just as much as anyone, but for me he's screwing things up by giving open statements like this.

I feel bad for him. I do thik an offseason of rest will really help him. He does't need to play right now; he needs time to fully recover to top shape. Even Brandon when healthy doesn't play well in our new system. Brandon slows the game down to much. In the offseason we are going to have to change his role so he can become a great supporting cast playing that does not slow the pace of the game and stops movement in our offence. As far as predictions I believe Roy will have an outstanding bounceback game because he understands this. He will step up and have a great game 3 with 16 points. He will let up in game 4 but blazers are too good to be finished yet. I expect the blazers to take enough momentum into Dallas. I still believe, Blazers in 6.

Brandon Roy deserves from us the respect he has earned.  However, that said, I for one do not and will not believe that it's not his knees.  Ask yourselves this.  If the Brandon of two years ago would be forced into his current role, wouldn't he perform in that role, earning minutes and a starting spot in Nate's rotation?  Ofcourse he would.  No brainer.  He may not like it, but he would surely be better than 1-8 from the field and 0-2 from the free throw line after two games.

@Blazers2101 i think for ROY its not all about the money he gain but his love for the game, we can see the way he play that even though he is hurt he is trying to do he's best in order to contribute to the team although sometimes we can see lots of bad moments when he is in the court... i think he really loves to play... and its not about the money.

I can understand Roy's frustration and just think that he is expressing it in any way he can.. The more he blames the organization or the coaching staff for his inconsistency and melodramatic playing time, the more it's going to happen.  Brandon if by some miracle you read this, just accept fault for being in a really really crappy slump right now, and when the coach gives you 2min, 3min, 4min, or 8min like you played in game 2 show him that you have the determination to wipe Dallas off of the face of the earth.  If plays aren't drawn up for you to score then prove your worth in every other stat category and Nate will play what he sees.  That's what the Blazers need, not some Debbie Downer sitting on the bench complaining about playing time.

He has to START! why is it so hard for everyone to figure this out. He isnt a Jamal crawford or jason terry type player who gets going quickly.  it takes time for him to get going. Thats why he was one of the leaders in 4th quarter points last year

Didn't mean to sound mean or anti-Brandon in my initla comment, he has been great for this team, with the All-star appearances and beyond the court stuff. I do feel bad for him, he has been the face of the team up until this point. I do hope he gets through this, but just in the short-term, the playoffs is about team. Right now, we are looking at two games left in the season (let's hope its longer), so I hope he can just go with the flow and when he is on the court, he does the best he can.

I think Trailblazer fans everywhere should have a little faith in Brandon Roy. He has been there for us and this team and I think his confidence is down. Could be because of all the negative press and comments from his fair weather fans. I think he can come out of this funk and help the team pull off this series if we have a little faith in him. thanks

To be honest, this team has ruined brandon Roy.
They messed up when they put him in against phoenix 8 days after he tore one of his ligaments a while back.
And this year they proceeded to play him even though, he wasnt needed and wasnt %100.

Roy is not going to make anyone happy if he keeps up in his current situation. He needs to stop playing and start healing, start rehabilitating.

Some of you want him to Start? Now i used to think that was the best solution as well, except when i sat down and thought, why would a team start a half injured franchise player who with each game potentially shortens his career?

Roy will return to damn near %100 percent but only if he stops playing. Other wise your  going to end up with another Greg Oden. A guy who played while hurt and in due time was never the same again and haunted by injuries.

Now that the series is down by 2 games, the portland fan fury is going to want the best in the game and want them to score, and most of all to win at whatever cost. Now becuase this franchise did not think about tis players health, and the fact that the franchise cannot think long term (living from game to game) once more this post season they are going to have to make a decision they could potentially cost them their season...

Play roy and expect a half injured player to come out and throw up numbers he hasnt thrown up in over a year....

Or to let their new starters, the ones who worked hard as ever to get to the playoffs, try and handle dallas, therefore sitting Roy and letting this guy get back to the guy who you build the team around.
Alot of people would like to build the team around aldridge now, and that is foolish as well, one because he is not always able to dominate like people hope, he is still young and at times inefficient, and two because that is too simple minded to build around one player. Build it around Roy and Aldridge. Then in your worst case scenarios when nothing else works, you have a tandem of all star like players

GET OFF THE ALDRIDGE BAN WAGON AND GET ON THE ROY TRAIN. Don't get me wrong i love how Aldridge has played and i hope he only gets better but Roy went down with an injury and everyone forgot about him.  HES AN ALL STAR! Give him the respect he deserves. this bench role obviously ain't working so a change is needed. Roy for 2011 2012 MVP!!!!!

This is exactly correct. Brandon Roy needs to be starting. Period. It's obvious and everyone including Brandon can agree that right now he isn't the same player he was of years past but he needs to be starting. He's not the type of player who can come in and make a difference when he's playing in spurts of 3 and 4 minutes at a time. You can't just throw him in there and expect him to produce like he's produced in the past when he's on the court. Brandon is a 3 time all-star and needs to be starting for this team. If he doesn't start, you might as well not play him at all. Let's see what him and those knees are really made of.

He hasn't been performing well because he's not out on the floor for long enough periods of time to establish a rhythm.  He's not getting enough time to establish a rhythm because he isn't playing well when he's out there.  It's a catch 22 and it can't be easy for McMillan or Roy to work with.  Either Roy is going to have to choke it down and learn to perform in smaller spurts of time or McMillan is going to have to bite the bullet and run with Roy for almost an entire quarter to see whether he's still able to establish himself as an offensive threat.

The only thing I didn't like about Roy's comments was the "treated better" line.  I understand just about everything else but it's not a matter of treatment.  Roy doesn't seem to understand that he's the one that has something to prove.  Not anybody else.  If he wants more playtime he has to find a way to perform in the time he's given.  My heart goes out to the dude and I hope he finds a way to fight through this.  I'd much rather have a playoff series where Roy contributed to the success of the Blazers rather than distracted from it.  Game 3 will be telling in a lot of ways and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little on edge going in.

Really Roy is back? I dont see him though. i dont see a guy going out there playing like an all star, Roy is playing like Oden, injured and ineffective.
No one is trying to take his place, and to let you know its the fans who really decide who the face is....

a kid who became a blazer fan in 07, would think roy is the face, a kid who becomes a fan this season, well theyre going to think Aldridge is the face.
    but again with the titles.....

If Roy doesnt sit and heal up, then he will never be the caliber of player he once was, the caliber of player that the majority of his fans are looking for. He has to take a rest. This team already has a kindergarten physical rehabilitation staff, so why make it any more harder than it should be?

Roy's playing time in the first game and the few games before it, should show everyone that clearly he is not ready to play in a playoff game.
im telling you guys its in his head more than in his legs, he needs to bone out for a couple months and clear his mind.

i dont know why people are hatting on roy so much, saying he cant ball, he's still breaking ankles, so what if the guy had a few bad games? the beauty of our team is 1 guy can have a bad game and we have a ton of good caliber players who can step up. we didnt have to blow our whole salary load on 3 players to try and win it.
