I have to say that Portland had a great chance to win this first game in Dallas.  The error was the coaching staff by keeping Camby out for the last five minutes of the 4th quarter.  We had no big man to grab offensive and defensive rebounds, that led Dallas to be Portland in the paint.  The coaching staff need to put a big man in the middle to give us a fighting chance.  Why did we sign two big men if we are not going to use them?

When MC is on the floor with Aldridge, teams double LA off of him, making it even more difficult for Portland to score in the half court.  Roy is a threat and cannot be left.  Steady and heady, not mistake prone either in what was a tight contest.

Even with the two most recent signings up front, Portland is still far too thin at the 4 and 5.  Barron and Johnson are simply insurance policies, not rotation players.

I have to respectfully disagree, when Camby is on the floor, it give them heighth and rebounding advantage, which we were surly lacking in the 4th.  Brandon Roy is not a threat, he moves to slow and is not able to get to the rim and the other teams know that.  Keep Roy on the bench till we have a good lead.

    It goes both ways really.

Speaking of Roy, it's tough to see him the way he is now. Hopefully in the off-season he puts more work into his game.

It's not even just having a big man, camby has 15 rebounds through the first 3, he had already played decent minutes, and I understand wallace was struggling, but Roy was giving Nate nothing out there. I understand why he stuck with Roy up until the last 6 minutes, Roy's been saying he needs to work into a rhythym (something a proffessional shouldn't have to say) it puts management and your team in a horrible situation trying to cover for his inability to stay in front of people. I understand Nate was mad about the refs, but set yourself up to win, and that wasn't a winning lineup in the 4th.

After watching the first game I wondered why Portland didn't run more. They didn't really utilize their greatest strength, transition offense. They ended up playing right into the Mavericks hands by not running enough. The Mavericks are aging, so this would have made perfect sense. Portland has the younger, more agile players. They must run more to win this series. But, sadly they didn't run enough all season, so this may be a difficult adjustment. I would still like to see them attempt it more. If I have one knock on Nate, this is it. I'm getting tired of the half-court game we always see. Lets bring back "Red Hot And Rollin" once again.

Otto Porter, the next Kevin Durant? No. But Unholy, I feel like we would not be that much better in the paint. Blair is much shorter than JJ.

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
