The idea of Sacramento moving to Anaheim has been bothering me lately.  I'm an Oregonian, but am currently in So-Cal continuing my education... again.  The one thing that I would like to point out is that if SAC moves to Anaheim, which is likely, the Lakers, Clippers, and the new Anaheim team would have an unfair advantage in the West.  Think about the added "road" games for all of these teams, it's like Oregon having 2 teams sharing the RG, and another team in Beaverton.  I know I know.. LA and the surrounding area is HUGE, but who needs 3 NBA teams within 30 miles of each other??
I was listening to Rome earlier today on 95.5, on my phone, and he reasoned that if a team moved to Anaheim they would be successful because it saves on a 20min drive to the Staples Center..  I've made the drive many times and it is far from unmanageable.  I don't see many Anaheim locals giving up their Laker loyalty or their love for the Blake Show any time soon, so why would SAC move to a flooded NBA market with 1 GREAT team and 1 up-and-coming team...
SACs move to Anaheim [AKA LA (in support I'll point out the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)] creates an easier road schedule for the already dominant Lakers whom may or may not be on the decline soon (we'll see) and the LA Clippers whom are on the rise.  The move also creates another couple road games for the Blazers in hostile So-Cal territory.  Now I don't mind the added Blazer games I'll be able to watch, but 3 teams in ONE market is ridiculous.... Maybe Anaheim needs to think about acquiring an NFL team before bringing in a NBA team that everyone might shy away from if the Lakers or Clippers have successful seasons next year.  Don't bring another team into bandwagon central--that's my vote, what are your thoughts?

I don't care quite as much about the advantages/disadvantages this move could have on NBA teams.  The reason this move is bad is because it screws over a city who has supported an underachieving NBA team no matter how bad it got.  Think what it would be like if the Blazers got moved to Seattle...

Very good point Jeff, I can definitely imagine the sting that Sacramento fans might be feeling right now.  I would be no less than livid if the Blazers were moved anywhere outside of 1 Center Ct, PDX, OR.  Having to leave a good fan base is just another reason this move is bad for the NBA, mentioning the scheduling advantages/disadvantages compounds the issue.

@Jeff I don't think this move would be anything like the Blazers to Seattle. In Seattle, they would welcome a team with open arms. In Anaheim they will welcome the team as long as it remains fashionable.

Plus, if they move the Blazers to Seattle, Portland will have to secede from the Union and declare war. Blood would be shed.

Queso, man you are right on about the difference of fan bases between Anaheim and Seattle. Down here in the L.A. area the fans are very fair-weatheresque.  I'll be the first Kamikaze pilot to volunteer if we ever have to go to war for our team. :)

Yeah I was one of them *blushes*. I was never a diehard fan of basketball until the 2011-2012 postseason. I could name every team, but I always forgot two. Kings and Blazers.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
